kgrogfefji82 Posted September 23, 2009 Share Posted September 23, 2009 I mean I just played San Andreas and it's a huge game, but the draw distance is sh*t, it's flatout sh*t, you can fly the hydra and all of the sudden a tree pops up and you're screwed. There's lots of fog to cover up cities because of the draw distance, you may see some glitchy thing that looks like half a mountain, then as you get closer the thing will start to make sense. I mean GTA IV isn't as big as SA is but IV does handle the view distance very well, it's great in IV, but if they made a game as big as SA during this generation do you guys think they even could keep a steady framerate and have a good view distance? Personally I'd rather have San Andreas again rather than Vice City, I love vice city more than San Andreas but I do think that Vice City for the next game could turn out to look a little to much like Liberty City does without the high buildings and I want new stuff rather than a liberty city without high buildings and beaches.. Don't get me wrong I do want Vice City re done but in terms of my imagination it would end up being too much like liberty city since everything is just a big city with pretty lights Vice City was lots better than Liberty City was in the last generation games, and that could become the case with the next game too, but I think going back to San Andreas could be better since there's a city, beaches, country side, desert etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Version, The Shape And Size May Change From The Original And We May Be Dissappointed With Any Losses That My Come From Such Changes, I Mean What If They Were To Remove Wheatstone (Sorry For Any Incorrect Spelling) Would We Not Have A Million People Asking "Where Is It?", Or If They Were To Remove Something Like Tiero Robada, Would People Not Complain? If They Re-made S.A. They Would Have To Be Rather Cautious On The Changes Made, To Make Sure The Public Is Satisfied With The Final Result. They'd Have To Keep Things Such As Area 53 (I Think?), Abandoned Airport, Wheatstone, The Ear, And Alot Of Parts Of The Cities To Make Sure The Buyers Are Happy With The Result. And I Personally Believe That It Is Highly Unlikely R* Will Meet That. They Most Likely Will Change It Too Much For Any Of Our Likings. But That's Just What I Think. Also, with many mods, SA can look great (especially when considering how old that engine is) - Project oblivion, various retex mods, it only shows would could have been done with SA, given enough care. I would only suggest that to make Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas big awesome realistic cities with plently of graphics and activities, that Rockstar should remove all the desert and wasteland in between. I think it would be nice to just go to LS Airport and catch a flight to SF or LV. I don't know it's just a suggestion.. Anyway, from a picture I saw on the trailer of GTA:TBOGT it MIGHT be possible that the next 2 cities are already decided. The only thing that would take time is cleaning-up and updating the graphics and also changing some things to give the vision of urban development. All that environment to play about with, it creates loads of different atmospheres. Why do you think so many people were disappointed with Liberty city? If each has a separate game, they'd have so much more detail. Though keep a little countryside around them, just for the people who actually liked it. Better physics, better graphics and trophies/achievements? Not worth it. If Rockstar would make SA remake probably more people will turn their backs to this company. The same story with the same characters in the same places - No. "New" San Andreas analogous to "New" Liberty City - why not. It's not like that I personally hate every place called San Andreas. I just don't want R* to use their powers to create something that was already made. And to be frank with you I don't like San Andreas. I completed it like 5 or 6 times, but I always considered it like a rich, but stupid hillbilly cousin. The game was too short to its size. I know that this sentence may sound like a sick man babbling, but we were having unused places or things in the game. Many places like Bayside for example was just there to "be" Same with many features(parachutes, car modding etc.) Story could also be better. Black gangbanger working with triads, italian mob and stealing some aliens' things and jetpacks from the highly protected almost non-existent military bases don't appeal to me. The map is hard work, yes, but the majority of development time was spent on porting logic to the new generation, and extending that logic to what it became for GTA IV. In other words, Rockstar can poop out maps all year if they want to, the only coding that needs to be done for the rest of the GTA IV games in this generation is for new features not in IV and for improvements to rage, things that different teams and parts of the company work on. Basically, Vice City is almost done and San Andreas is already started (they will use RDR assets in San Andreas - that is the sole purpose of Rockstar's order of releasing: reuse assets, or rather, make making them worth it. There is so much more in a GTA than other games, that other games must introduce new features and stuff or else it would just be a waste and take too long to make any money between GTA's) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
