XAF226
I think the Australian government sprayed this around the country on purpose as a drug to keep the people following the laws. If you try smoking the dust with weed and PCP then you might really think you're on Mars.
ScratchCard
Anyone got a 1024x768 or bigger picture of it? I'm looking for a new screensaver, and Google didn't give much results.

Clem Fandango
I woke up, looked out the window, and everything was red. I was tripping out. My entire couch and kitchen counter were covered in dust.
Murcchachosa
How could this happen? Is it something like there is something in the air? I never knew about this
ScratchCard
Now, Scratchcard: no, it is not a regular thing. We're talking about a country the size of the contigious United States. It's a massive landmass, and weather is unpredictable. I have lived in my particular state for 28 years, and have never seen anything like this. Air quality reached dangerous levels. Then how'd it get so bad now? Freak occurrence. They happen from time-to-time. Wind gusts basically collected a sh*t-ton of topsoil from the red centre and deposited it over a couple of states. It was freaky sh*t. Also, if anyone has anymore screens of 1024x768 or bigger, please post.

mr_bungle
Is this what you Aussies call heat wave? Or something else? Its called a Dust Storm.
Cilogy
I've always wanted to go to Australia just to see the dust storms. There's a YouTube video showing people in a car going through a dust storm, its like the middle of the day, but when they enter the storm it looks like its midnight, though you can't see barely 2 feet in front of you. Looks pretty thrilling ... or annoying depending on which way you look at it.
Pumpkin Zone
Man, it really is like Mad Max out there, isn't it? You know.. without the scantily clad large men roaming about with hockey masks. Unless I'm wrong about that?
Punk-in-Drublic
Thats quite awesome and beautiful, i'd love to be in Aus for that, such a nice sight.

XAF226
@XAF226: Australians following laws? Certainly you're thinking of some other country. Nope. Australia is trying to censor the internet. I'm sure this "dust" is all a conspiracy. You can never trust what you're told.
GTA3Freak-2001
I was up in the north of South Australia two weeks ago and there were similar dust storms, not orange or red or anything due to the not so red dirt but seriously I thought then driving around I was in Mad Max or some post apocalyptic movie. I think obviously red dirt from Northern Territory has mixed with dirt from South Australia and the storm front has picked it up and taken it all the way through, and not just to Sydney its still heading for New Zealand. livejoker
Reminds me of the bad guy in Spider-man being blown away. Do you guys get that alot? A few times? Virgin to this? makeshyft
Australia is trying to censor the internet. One member of the Australian Government is trying to introduce an internet filter which will never go through due to massive public disapproval. One guy... not 'Australia'. SaintJimmy
Yesterday, I woke up at like 6 to turn off my alarm - my blind was down but my window was like 0.5mm ajar so you could hear that weird sound the wind makes when it blows through it - it was so intense I looked up and saw some orange light peering through the gap between my windowsill and blind - I opened the window and it was just completely red. I couldn't see 5ft in front of my window. Scary sh*t until I went downstairs and realized just what exactly was going on.
