Boombastic320 Posted September 23, 2009 Share Posted September 23, 2009 (edited) Ok, so my Girlfriend and i bought GTA IV for PC about a week ago, and it works perfectly fine for me it seems. but for her... Not so much. She used to get kicked instantly as soon as she got into the game, so i had her upgrade to a Nvidia 9800 GTX+, because her card was a 7700. So that did help, she can play now, for the most part, she doesn't have ANY visual lag whatsoever, and we can play alright, until a couple minutes in, i notice the cars start to jerk around a bit, like the server is lagging, (She creates) and then she gets disconnected, but we are in vent together when we play, and she has 15 ping in ventrilo, and her connection itself is not disconnected. Also, whenever we get into big fights with many police, she will get a "exe" error, and everytime it happened, she was leaning out the passenger window shooting at the cops. EVERY time, but usually by that time we're being chased by like... 5 or so police cars. But i have seen people lag WAY worse than she does on LIVE games, and they don't get kicked! She has a dual core 2.8ghz | Nvidia 9800 GTX+ | 4gigs DDR2 Ram | All drivers are up to date, BIOS is up to date, she has XP SP3. her software is perfect, works so well with ALL other games, just this one seems to be a real pain in the ass. any help would be GREATLY appreciated, been trying for a full week non-stop to get this thing working. Oh, and we have it on Steam if that helps at all, and we use Hamachi, well... We try to use Hamachi for Lan on this game, but for some reason it won't work, we do it with about 10 other games and it works perfectly fine, since we aren't actually hardwired to each other. Thanks! Edit: When she disconnects, the error message says "Your computer was running too slowly" But her computer handles it fine! And yes we tried lower settings, we tried all settings. " If i have it on Steam... I didn't pirate it, we TRIED using hamachi, thinking that it was Windows Live, but it wasn't. I'm trying to get it to work in any way i could. No. Does your question regard the standard network issues people face with GFWL? No. Is it standard practice to play GTAIV over hamaci networks? No. Is there a section on GTAF dedicated to hamachi network support? If yes, go there. Has anyone else dignified you with an answer in almost a month? No. Guess why.
