gamesguru
In a recent tradition for GTA IV product, Rockstar are advertising BOGT on the Canal St corner: Source: http://rockstargames.com/news/2009/09/22/8...eene_street_nyc

gamesguru
its already posted on the main page of this site.. old news Mind giving a link? You mean on GTAF right? I can't see a topic in either the BOGT or main GTA IV forum. I did a search as well. Unless you mean GTA4.NET, because technically it's a different site to GTAF, just apart of the same network. Not everybody is going to visit GTA4.NET all the time, so a topic here can't do no harm. Plus 3hrs is hardly 'old'. If it was something like a new trailer, then maybe . 08LasVenturas
I wonder how much controversy there would be if they blatantly said "The Ballad of Gay Tony" along the entire banner in hige font for all to see?
Royal55
I wonder how much controversy there would be if they blatantly said "The Ballad of Gay Tony" along the entire banner in hige font for all to see? Especially if a gay guy named Tony happened to walk by and see it.

kgrogfefji82
That's awesome! Girl looks sexy too I really hope Episodes of Liberty City comes with a poster, but I kinda doubt it does. They're advertising it as "episodes of liberty city" though I thought they'd advertise it as "The Ballad of Gay Tony" I guess they don't have balls enough for that
Pumpkin Zone
I love how Rockstar always does this. Always makes me laugh that they pick New York, when the governors and leaders of the town always seem to attack the game as violent and destroying our youth and whatnot. buffalosoulj4h20
They should hit that sh*t up in the Bronx! But I remember a San Andreas mural back in '04 near my house. Which I loved looking st everytime I went passed it on the bus. I was f*cking hyped for that game. Magic_Al
The rules of this advertising campaign are simple. Every dollar they might spend talking about TBOGT is a dollar they COULD have spent talking about EFLC. Therefore they will talk only about EFLC. EFLC is the more expensive, physical product. Unsold copies of EFLC is fail. Unsold copies of DLC, well there's no such thing as unsold copies of DLC. Meanwhile, although EFLC includes TLAD, every bit of time or space they might spend on the old content of TLAD is time or space they could have spent talking about the new content of TBOGT. TLAD is new to some but TBOGT is new to everybody. Therefore they will show only TBOGT. But only as part of EFLC.

Or they just as easily could have put 'GRAND THEFT AUTO IV: EPISODES FROM LIBERTY CITY & THE BALLAD OF GAY TONY - TWO COMPLETE GAMES AND ALSO TBOGT - DOWNLOAD IT SOON' Or whatever. They could have easily pimped both the DLC and the disc of EFLC.
shinsta312
It took me a while to realize that was the wall on Canal and Greene St. in SoHo was the same building wall that R* used to promote IV and TLAD. EDIT: And it took me a while to realize that the OP had already mentioned that.
JOSEPH X
Yay, I`ll be over the pond and in New York in a couple of weeks. Gonna soak up some of the Hype around BOGT and maybe do a bit of base jumpin`
Vanilla Shake
Making the mural advertise "The Ballad of Gay Tony" by itself wouldn't cause a controversy because it's New York. Lotta gay people in New York, and most people who walk by the mural probably wouldn't give a sh*t. It is cool how they advertise these games. Only Rockstar can pull this off. gamesguru
If memory serves me correct, I think R* did the same for L&D, both NY and LA (not too sure on LA, but I'm sure they did Canal St).
