DrAnomalous Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 There's not gonna be any weapon customization, if anything we may earn or stumble upon a rare weapon. This is DLC and while we're gonna get alot of nice sh*t to play with I doubt we'll get something like this just to have pretty color schemes on every gun. I wouldn't mind interchanging high capicity clips or adding scopes and silencers but I doubt it highly we'll get it in a DLC. I like that things are set in a certain way, for example choosing clothes is limited to what he would actually wear and not just a bunch of other random stuff and choosing guns to, being able to customize a gun would be going a bit to far at the moment for me, I would enjoy it sure and online it would be awesome but not in single. Jesus why with all the obvious references to SR2 whenever a new gameplay mechanic is brought up that would actually give the player a lil snippet of extra freedom in how they play...noone was suggesting GTA4 would be better if it was reverted to its much more wackier days or made more in the vein of SR2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm already more than satisfied with the new weapons they're already giving us...but I don't have anything against people that want that sort of thing. The gold plating thing seems.....odd. Yeah but to me it just looks like you just really like to bring up SR2 to voice your opinion on how you clearly don't like the game. I won't be dissapointed if gun customisation, purchasable safehouses or even if you still can't choose the colour of your car through the PayNSpray don't make it in, since whats been confirmed is enough for me to know this'll be 1600 MS points well spent and around 20 or so hours of my life worth wasting. MitchJ90 Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 Well I honestly can't see whats to like about that And yeah I gathered that the mere thought of any type of customisation will have people whailing over SR2...but just because SR2 has it as a very strong factor of its gameplay doesn't mean GTA4 couldn't have a much lighter option with a few of the basics . I mean christ just being able to choose the colour of our car at the PayNSpray and again...being able to add scopes, magazine upgrades and silencers to particular weapons. It would certaintly add more variety to how to play the game and also an added reason to save your cash instead of wasting it through countless deaths. I can't see what people like about playing FPS. When you played 1 you played them all. People have different tastes. I like the feeling you are a small part of liberty and aren't in control. Cilogy Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 You guys that are jumping the gun on this issue (pun intended) need to adopt the idea that "everything is mission-specific until proven otherwise." Silencers, exploding rounds, stuff like that could just be features available at certain points in the game and no where else in free mode. Always be skeptical. I don't need to tweak my weapons' colors or put silencers on like this is RB6 or something. There are so many more details to cover in a free roam game such as this, I just think it'd be pointeless to have something as minor as gun customization in the game when there are plenty of creative weapons to be had. I'm not bothered...i was just confused over your reasons as to whats so wrong with having such a gameplay mechanic brought in. And the stuff i brought up was to help prove my point over how while yeah the game has some small features to make it seem real...but theres not even alot of that to be seen. Why i'm carrying on like this too is I still don't understand how customisable weapons can be seen as adding so much...freedom/power/whatever...to the game. And so having your weapons available for abit of small tweaking can instantly have you transform from a ''small part of liberty city'' to like a God? i don't think i'd ever use it. Rockstar like to add in a few minor touchs just for the sake of adding more to their world. Just like the random people missions, they don't have any bearing on the main storyline and don't give you much of a reward either...so they could be seen as being pretty pointless too through your logic. I'm gonna be loving this dlc so far nothing sounds too over the top the missions do sound fun, but I already know one thing I won't give rat ass about and that is the dancing game. Alot of people say they'll be pissed if their fabricated or dreamnt up feature isn't in. At least you come out and say you won't be disappointed if this isn't in. Profesh Posted September 17, 2009 Share Posted September 17, 2009 While I think that extensive weapon-customisation would defeat the object of actually having such a diverse arsenal, the option of a suppressor on certain weapons would appeal to different play styles, and purely cosmetic modifications are always welcome.
