Moss27
Just okay? You're okay with that? That it's just you, and a destination, on the other side of a dead-boring city, with NOTHING in it? Whatever floats your island... But meh, it's embarrassing to even see how much hype this got with such a dead, baron, nothingness it takes place in. I totally agree with supermortalhuman. Wow, so in TLAD, there's some new bikes and weapons, who gives a crap? In Bogt, yeah it looks slightly better, but how long until parachutes and the new guns get boring? In my opinion, GTA is coming to an end. Sooner or later, hopefully later. But seriously, if the new DLC's want my vote, they're gonna have to bring something out amazing. Now I'm gonna be totally honest, the trailer did make me wanna buy an xbox 360 and the DLC, for one reason... The song they used in the trailer.. Oh yeah, I forgot, I have limewire. You're: 1) Trying to convince yourself that you wouldn't buy the DLC even if it was available to you 2) Trying to convince yourself that GTA is just getting old and that it's coming to an end despite selling millions of copies and having released one of the best value DLC packs ever 3) Have no idea what you're rambling on about 4) Wish you could sneak into my house and play TLAD while I sleep

(duh) Well see now your talking some sense. I never understood why people worry so much about exclusives. Original GTA III was exclusive to PS2 when I had an xbox so I bought in on PC it ran at 15 fps on on the sh*t box I had then but it kept me happy. Then Vice came out and I had to get a PS2 cause I couldn't wait. The consumer is the one that ends up getting f*cked always, but I don't think that will ever change. You'll win some and lose a few too. Edited September 17, 2009 by Sinz86irocblk
Horrigan
I never said GTA should be exclusive to PC. It just frustrates me when I play a game that was ported from console and I imagine how the game could have been like 10x cooler if it wasn't thought for console first. I'm speculating but could you imagine how GTA would have owned if Rockstar would have supported PC modding by releasing a World Editor or something.. Can you imagine what the huge gta fanbase would have created? I wonder if Rockstar will release something one day at the level of SA-MP, with added features of course. Persistent gang war servers. 'nuff said.

I have not played it but it doesn't seem to be bound by what the consoles were capable of. GTA has one of the largest fan bases for a video game in the world. I'm sure rockstar is also aware of the extensive amount of mods created by fans. So why would they waste their time creating a map editor that not even half of the PC gamers could run? I think your thinking too far ahead. As soon as I'm through with a gta game I like to imagine what the future of the franchise has in store too. I don't think being critical of what it is, can be fair though.

'nuff said. To some extent I do agree with you but I have few points to call out: 1. Right now Console market>PC market and such as R* are not dumb enough to aim the wrong market & they gotta please shareholders too. Sure by designing GTA IV as PC game it might have better graphics & stuff but they will get smaller amount of revenue in return. Money talks. 2.Consumer-wise, if GTA IV is not as successful as it is now aren't that will affect future GTA development let say for eg, smaller budget & smaller team MIGHT result (not always) in lower quality GTA products. 3. GTA series born in PC but consoles popularized the game and for a 3rd person free-roaming action adventure game, isn't more suitable choice for the players using console's controller than keyboard and mouse set-up IMO. One key feature of controller superiority over keyboard is that it allows users to have pressure sensitive buttons which allows players to simulate and heighten control over vehicles in GTA IV. Oh yeah about the DLCs. PC gamers no worries, remember R* decision porting Chinatown Wars to PSP & Iphone , money talks.

numdmind
this thread stays open, yet i've had better threads and they get locked.don't buy a console. who cares? nobody, that's who. That's because the mods are none too bright. They close meaningful topics but won't shut down topics like this or ones asking for more titties. On topic though, I don't know what kind of crack Mr. TC is smoking on, but TLAD was not a barren wasteland of nothingness. Do you not understand that Bill Gates owns the 360 and Windows? You refuse to buy one thing from him because you say he's a money-grubbing whore, yet you'll still give him money for your PC? All of you along these lines of thought are embarrassing yourselves anytime you say something like that, you're still giving Bill Gates your money. :.LJNsucked.:
I guess I'm just weird, but I never really thought of TLAD's cars and peds limit as being worse than GTA IV's alone, it really doesn't seem different to me.

RomanViking
...and I have to say, point blank, with no doubt: I am so glad I did not buy a 360. Why? Because the game is horrible... I saw like 3 cars on the road at a time, no peds, it's just a baron wasteland. The point of this topic? To say it to R*: You wasted these episodes on consoles, man. You wasted them. That sh*t is not GTA IV, it's just a model of a city with some missions. Those playing on PC know what I'm talking about... I am so unimpressed and I know BoGT has the potential to be even better than TLaD, but guess what? It's still going to be dry, pedless, and carless, and just bland, boring, dead Liberty City. You're not getting my money for consoles (ever), and your company knows exactly why, and I'm sure you respect that. The only thing that kept me going in this game was the life in the city - there is none on the consoles. I can tell you for a fact that there are more than 3 cars on the streets at any given time. Sometimes I'm cruising down the Skyway in Alderney, and yeah, there's disappointingly few cars on screen. And it honest to god does feel lifeless. But at other times I'm walking down the street, and there's like 20+ cars going by, and dozens of chatting peds. And it honest to god feels like a real city street. It's inconsistent. And I just went back and watched it again, and I was like "yea, where are all the cars and people?" I guess my settings could be why, but still. I just posted a thread recently and it was about whether I should just go all in and get one. Just, like, whatever and just buy one for the stories. But like, there may be a living breathing city there, but it isn't nearly alive as the IV I played on PC (and I did see it on consoles, and I was impressed, and it does have cars and peds, but not many, it has a low amount, that I would not have minded in the old games, but I look at it now and I'm noticing how much dryer it was?) That's all.

My thoughts exactly. I stopped playing PC games years ago when it got to the point where every game had its own system requirements, some of which conflicted with each other, and I came to the realization that it costs far out the ass compared to consoles to have to continuously buy upgraded graphics cards and all that other bullsh*t, AND sit through a long ass installation, AND have a game that's subject to crashes and errors that just stops in the middle of itself because some asshole wants to chat, AND it just don't feel natural anymore playing these fast paced modern games on a keyboard and mouse, when I could be using a controller that I can navigate by feel alone. And seriously, if any of you thinks GTA4 sucks because you think that there should be more cars or pedestrians or whatever, then seriously, pick up a brick, bash yourself in the head with it, bleed a little bit, then bash yourself in the head with it again, and if you're still standing, bash yourself in the head a third and maybe fourth time, because you fail at not failing. That's all. Do it! Only if you want to. That is pretty much what I did.. I bought my first 360 for L4D and then I ended up building a computer and sold my 360. I then heard that GTA was coming out with exclusive content for the 360, so I bought another one. I bought the first one from a friend at work for $200 and then bought the second one on eBay for $220.. The first being an arcade and the second a refurbished 20gb.. There are good deals out there, just got to know where to look I swore to myself i'm keeping this one though, because something will come out in the future for the 360 that I want. I've had it about a year and to this day, I still have 3 games. GTAIV, TLaD, and Wet.. So all in all, I would get one if you find a good deal on one. Somewhere like gamestop or a local game trading store may be good places to start!
