Well most of your posts in here are spam and completely irrelevant, but believe me or not, it does happen to me and it wasn't intentional (i.e. a sound effect they implemented). I thought this may've been possible after reading some of your posts but I tested this theory and ruled it out.

Basically I used Vista's sound manager thingy to mute sound coming from specific applications, so I did this with GTA:IV. Played it for about an hour while only GTA was muted by vista. Then my speakers started making the buzzing noise again and my ingame cell phone rang about a second later. So my friends, rockstar didn't intentionally program this into the game, and even if they did, why would they? It's a waste of time and it's pointless imo.

Hit the mute button on your keyboard and mute everything. Lets see if you can still hear the interference.

And as some proof for you that the interference is indeed intentional and has been coded into the game, here are excerpts from some game reviews:

Even dozens of hours in, you’ll notice little touches that make the game sing, like a tiny change in Niko’s expression during a cutscene or an incoming cell phone call making your car’s speakers buzz momentarily.

Rockstar even included little details like that static-y interference buzz some phones make when you’re near speakers (I thought it was my real phone the first time I heard it).

So what youre saying is you still think the sound effect is a real radio signal causing your speakers to make that interference sound?

Get a grip man, they DID program it into the game, although it doesnt happen with all in game calls. They added it for a joke...you know that funny thing that makes people with a sense of humour laugh?

Your speakers could still make that interference from your mobile even when a call isnt coming in, happens to me and Im sure a lot of others from time to time.

Just when you think you heard everything about GTA games...

Seriously. I would like to know how old is Joe. I mean, no offense dude, you can't be serious. Why not trying to just stand in the middle of nowhere (in game) and wait for a call. Or, just mute your speakers? Or mute sound from sound control? Why going for complicated steps?

But I know there are people for just about everything, I have a co-worker that, whenever we heat up our food in the microwave, she waits for the 5 "Hey! I'm done beeps" that the microwave makes. She even counts them. She has been told by some freak dude that if she opens the microwave before the last beep, she gets radiated... dontgetit.gifsarcasm.gifsuicidal.gif

How can a computer emit a radio signal?

What do you think a cell phone is? It's basically a mini computer...

I lol'd.

And then, I lol'd some more. breadfish_by_Moto.gif

Just a few days ago I started playing GTA IV after purchasing it months ago and not being able to play it cause my PC couldn't handle it. I upgraded my memory and video card hoping to be able to play the game. So it works now, I've been playing IV for hours on in and I just noticed something REALLY weird in the game.

You know how sometimes when you leave your cell phone too close to your computer or your car stereo, and the speakers make a buzzing noise right before it's about to ring? My PC speakers do this right before my INGAME CELL PHONE is about to ring!! I dunno much about radio waves and whatnot, but I read up on it:

1) A cellphone or BlackBerry emits pulsing radio waves intended to contact a nearby cellphone tower.

2) The radio waves are picked up by speakerphones or public address systems, whose wires act as antennas and convert the radio waves into electrical signals.

3) The electrical signal travels to the speaker located in the device, which changes it into acoustic energy.

4) The acoustic pulses are transmitted out the speaker, just like the regular audio signals the device produces.

Now that basically proves that the ingame cell phone emits real radio waves around your computer (hoping to reach a nearby cell phone tower in your area?) This can't be good, and if the FCC inspects games too, how'd this one pass? wow.gif

Sure leaves me to thinking...

This is too imaginative to be real. However, if for some reason it is real...

Rockstar is trying to damage our brains!

It's ok, I don't think there's a way to damage your brain any further.

This thread really is causing brain damage! Im getting outta here while I still have my grey matt.. agh its happening..... I can feel it.....im turning into a bonafide......douchebag!

Seriously the signal from your phone still has to go through the the headset and into your ear so all you've done is just spent more money on increasing your headache problem. Stop calling people so much or use speakerphone at least its away from your ear.

Wow what a return to the forums....

In order to use a phone it has to be connected to the cell tower (or whatever it's called, bit tired atm). And because of that phones need to radiate waves (different waves than what we can hear). Closer you are the phone, more waves go through you. So that's why distance matters.

Current science doesn't know long-term effects of these waves. They actually might damage our brains.
