I never signed up for Facebook but I am periodically getting emails informing others have been requesting me to join or add them, not sure about this, and don't recognize anyone, What are your thoughts? gtathebest4ever Posted September 8, 2009 Share Posted September 8, 2009 i got a facebook account, but i think it's only good for finding OLD friends from school or something. other than that, it's pretty stupid. a lot of people develop what i call the "facebook syndrome", when you're really good friends whit someone on facebook, but when you meat them in real life, you just say hi and stare at the floor. You automatically get those messages when people 'invite' you to their network.. best thing to do is block the email adress that's sending them. I have a fair few family members on there aswell so i was like Oh sh*t, my cousin Amy said to me the next day so who have you been shagging then? I facepalmed. Anyways yeah i dont really use it that much cause if i need somebody ill ring them or drive to their house, i would say i check it like 3 times a week. I may or may not use Facebook, I don't do much with Twitter or MySpace, but the MySpace channels I subscribed to are still updating and very cool as well. It has nothing to do with having the most press in a lot of cases people just use what they like better, simple as. I used Myspace for a long time before it had a haul over and it was alright, then I got coaxed into using FB by my friends and personally I'm glad I moved over because FB may be a little annoying at times but its a sh*tload easier to use than Myspace and a lot less hassle. I don't visit it often and nor do I plan to start using it religiously as others do. I just don't like those type of sites, I dunno why! but yeah I do get the spam invites and sh*t, it's annoying but almost everything in my email account is. I consider Facebook Myspace for idiots because of it's unnecessarily simple layout and user interface, from what I've seen it doesn't even allow the use of HTML, but then again I wouldn't know as I haven't ever been there and don't intend on ever doing it either. I've been told to try facebook and guaranteed to like it but it's honestly just too damn f*cking dull. I don't think there's even a front page. MySpace posts on their front page news, videos, pictures, ads, and tell you when famous people open their new account, ect. It's just more fun in my opinion. And yes, I did say ads. Which really, is all Myspace has been for a good while, a place where people can listen to unknown artists/famous ones and probably also jizz over the fact it has videos like YT does. I don't really understand anything in it. 2) I already use a social networking site which is Latvian. Half of Latvia is there . 3) None of my Real Life friends use Facebook... Agreed here, many time I've been on somebodys myspace and been like, "where the f*ck do I even add a comment". I recovered it and canceled it after. Myspace takes too long to load and when it does, quickly stops responding as you scroll down. For FB, my friend registered one for me, I would never bother with it and since he used my email, my inbox was filled with messages reminding me of things that have happened, I got tired and decided to change the email to whatever else. I like FB because it makes arranging plans very easy and I can talk to my friends on it. Also, the apps and quizzes are fun if you're bored.
