Sauron
I've recently downloaded some .mkv files, now they're fine to watch on my computer through the VLC player, but I watch the majority of my files on TV through my XBOX and a digital set top box, which I'm pretty sure runs on FAT32 not sure of specific file types. I was just wondering if there was a way to get these files to run without a converter? If that isn't possible can someone point me in the way of a good converter for Mac. Cheers. Pico
Not sure if the file system type has to do with it (aside from the file size), it's whether or not the player on the Xbox can decode the video file. And I doubt it can do mkv files. Your best bet is to convert them... now as to what program can convert mkv files, can't help you there. All of my Star Wars videos are mkv, of course they're HD so they're over 4GB which means they have to be on an NTSF file system, could be where your assumption of file system is coming from. If so, you'll have to convert your files to a lower quality in order to get them under 4GB to fit on a FAT32 file system as well.
