Loading Bar

Gamesguru's signature inspired me to try and give a animated loading bar a shot.

 

Didn't turn like I wanted it to since I used teh Mozilla Firefox Add-on (APNG Editor)

 

 

What do you think?

What's wrong with it? Looks fine.

APNG Editor gave it the bars places and for me it just doesn't look like a good bar. I'll make a new one later and post.

Looks good to me, nothing wrong with it. I've never seen the APNG editor, but the same effect can easily be done in Flash, Photoshop etc. If you have Flash you could be a bit more fancy and do loading bars more like you see in video games or on web pages that focus heavily on flash.

 

For an example to know what I'm talking about, take a look at Vista's loading bar. In flash and even Photoshop it's easy to make the bar filling effect, but in Flash you can have those snazzy effects like on Vista (glows, reflections). Sorry if you don't have vista, but I can't think of another example at the moment.

 

The only thing I find a bit of place with the image is that it loads in 'bars' and when all the bars are there (except the last one) it all of a suddenly fills up fully. I think if you got rid of that last frame with a full bar and just put the last bar of the pattern at the end, it would look miles better and more consistent . Talking of inspiration, reminds me of my avi .

 

For example, at the moment it goes:

 

_ _ _ _ _ and then all of suddenly fills up like: __________

 

It would look better like this in my opinion: _ _ _ _ _ _

 

EDIT: Oh and slowing down the frames might help. Seems a bit fast, especially seeing as it's looping.

Thanks. I know what you mean with ista (since I have Vista). I'll try and get my hands on some more programs like Flash and give it another go.
