Maybe because rather than seek proper help you decide to tell everyone on an internet forum that you have dark, edgy feelings, automatically thinking that this will add a streak to your moody, alternative personality that no-one will understand. You tell us anyway however, in the hope we will offer help when really all you'll say is "thanks, but I don't think it'll do much good". Then we can all sit around the fire and sing songs about how much of a trooper you are.

 

 

 

Seriously though? Go to a doctor about it. Depression isn't funny. Hence the name. A friend of mine sunk into depression after a string of family deaths and trouble at home, he went on medication for a while, quit drinking and changed his diet. He completely turned things around. Try eating the right things and quitting things that are bad for you for a while.

I think it's because of the two "waves" of interest in multiplayer in the GTA series. Way back it was speculated widely that the next GTA (which one, I don't now) would feature online multiplayer, and as such the forums prepared themselves with gangs (or clans w.e.) which were made official forum groups pretty quickly. Then, when the multiplayer didn't come, the gangs became just forum groups serving only community stuff. Then when GTA IV came on the scene with confirmed multiplayer the idea of news gangs starting popping up all over the place thanks to the forums now being much larger. If you look at all the gangs in the Multiplayer section it simply wouldn't be plausible to give every gang a forum because many would be left unused and just be a drain on memory or the server or other tech jargon. So it was decided to just leave the old, established officials as they were.

EDIT: Now that I think about it actually, hoping for online multiplayer on any game pre-San Andreas would be pretty ridiculous, except for the PC where it's slightly less ridiculous. Any of the forums vets got a solid answer to this?

Once GTA:III was released there was no multiplayer, but the gangs remained because of the many friendships created within them. Soon it became a whole scene, the bigger and more popular gangs getting officialized and smaller ones popping up and gaining popularity. So it remained until a few years back when the staff decided to delete the PGC (Public Gang Chat) out of the blue, at the whim of a few names and for purposes which I won't get into here for the sake of both time and reluctance to piss off any staff members. The officials remained because they were and still are the backbone of GTAF's community. Though some moderators want desperately to get rid of us due to some of the aforementioned unnamed prejudices.

Right, but I thought the gangs were mainly brought up because MP was speculated for VC. Since the MP references didn't get discovered until people started modding 3 for PC.

To tell you the truth, I can't remember. The gangs have been here before the PC version was around because I joined before the PC version was released.

Alright, my question is what's up with this crazy weather we're having?

It's spring for God's sake, I should be in shorts playing hoops at the park. Instead I'm sitting in the front of the computer with a sweat suit, gloves, ski mask and the freaking heater cranked to the max, sipping on hot chocolate.

Only thing I can assume is that anuj's site got hacked, or it's doing the whole false positive thing GTAF did for a brief period awhile back. Only person who can answer the question properly is anuj though.

Only thing I can assume is that anuj's site got hacked, or it's doing the whole false positive thing GTAF did for a brief period awhile back. Only person who can answer the question properly is anuj though.

Same thing that happened before, Dreamhost sucks and is terrible. I changed all the passwords again to unnecessarily long and difficult ones, I cleaned all the infected pages, and I deleted the GTAWiki.

 

I hate that it came to this, but I use this site for professional purposes and I can't keep letting mediawiki f*ck over my stuff.

 

The database is still backed up and I'll give it to anyone who wants it, but the uploaded images are all gone.

 

It sucks, 4 years worth of user contributions gone, I know, but I can't deal with this sh*t every two months.
