I was looking for more of a forum, rather than just a single topic with the colours and stuff on it. After learning Spanish for a while I need something a bit more in depth I am afraid.

What the heck happened at Times Square?

 

 

A WILD shooting near Manhattan's Times Square early Monday morning (local time) left four people injured and dozens under arrest.

 

Police said three of the shooting victims were young women.

 

No one was arrested in connection with the shootings, police said.

 

However, a crowd of more than 50 people was arrested near West 34th Street and 7th Avenue between midnight and 2am New York time.

 

The 45 adults and nine juveniles who were taken into custody face a variety of charges including disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

 

It was not clear what sparked the shootings or why the crowd turned unruly.

I was looking for more of a forum, rather than just a single topic with the colours and stuff on it. After learning Spanish for a while I need something a bit more in depth I am afraid.

Try buying a book in English (or your native language) and the same book in Spanish. Then read both at the same time and learn. I haven't done that, but apparently it worked in The Terminal . But seriously, I think it might work to some extent. Try it.

Ya'll know ,The Cure, predates goths and all that? I'm pretty sure The Cure might have started in the very late seventies even. There was no cute name to describe the style of people that might have listened to them. Bottom line is there were no goths, emos, or what ever - it was just the 80s. I saw the cure a few times in the 80s and I'm pretty sure I was just my tie-dyed colorful self.

Sure, there were people that wore a bunch of black clothes. I'm not sure anyone went so far as to pale up their face or anything. The whole vampire thing hadn't really happened, and people weren't enticed by movies like ,The Lost Boys, and ,Love at first bite. There just wasn't a term attached to that crowd. Honest, they were just a spin off from punk at that time. At least where I grew up.

 

I don't want to upset anything, but you do know that VC wasn't written in the 80s.

 

The 80s where even more f*cked up than the 70s when it came to social wackiness. It's kind of impossible to apply current ways and thinking to how things were then. Think about it - I'm a born and bread hippie that used to live on the road with the Grateful Dead, yet I have seen a few Cure concerts. I even saw ,The Smiths, and ,The Alarm, back then. I guess I'm just trying to relay that there wasn't the same social distinctions back then as there are today.

What about Dave Vanian from The Damned, they were a 70's Punk band that influenced the Goth scene and he did the whole black hair/pale face routine and he used to dress in Vampire clothes and all that sh*t.
