Because most posts before April 20th, 2005 were added to archive + the fact that there was a server crash in 2003 when a lot of posts and accounts were lost. Well, this is everything I know about this topic. Hope this helps.

Which got disabled because members were posting coloring their text with illegible colors and the didn't take into account that some members were using another skins.
