Can anyone tell me which Firefox version allows me to view custom symbols? I hate seeing squares.

Firefox 5.0 works fine for me.

Assuming that your problem is with GTAF -

View > Character Encoding > Western (ISO-8859-1)

 

Try setting it to auto-detect first, choose this option if that doesn't work.

Who or what is Slamman? I always see references made to him on here.

Not too long ago I was asking the same question.

 

He was a member who was banned. I believe he received a temporary ban at first but still would log on and reply to people's topics via PM and also wasn't very pleasant or respectful of the Mods/Admins, which resulted in a perma ban. People talk of him as if he was one of the most annoying members of the boards since he would reply to people spouting inane nonsense that has virtually nothing to do with anything..and he'd go on and on and on...

 

If you've ever seen one of his youtube videos, you'll completely understand.

I remember after he was banned everyone had sigs that said RIP slamman

Did he ever talk to you about his PC by any chance? I kept getting stupid messages where he was telling me about his PC, and what the weather was like and sh*t like that...soon turned nasty though when he saw me posting about him on here.

This doesn't seem to work, unfortunately. I even tried adding more to the Customization List but nothing worked. Got any other ideas? I'm at the moment on Firefox 5.0.

Why is this no longer working for me? It tells me to disable my pop-up blocker, which usually results in a box popping up at the top of my browser, but no box comes up. It used to work fine for me, but now, after I click on "Can I run It", the screen just stays forever on the Analyzing page.

 

Any help?

Try it on Internet Explorer, sometimes it only works there, don't know why.

It started out on SomethingAwful I believe. But this site was the site that bought into the myth the most. The resulting topic led to there being a huge amount of new members joining the forums. One of the guys who took it the most seriously was vALKYR if I remember rightly.

They need to do the Canadian thing:

 

Canadian English = US English + British English + slang no one outside the country understands

 

In words such as colour, I keep the 'u' in there, but for something like authorization, I spell it with a 'z' rather than an 's,' so I'm going back and forth. I should really learn all the rules for British English; I know there's something about 'l' versus 'll,' such as traveling versus travelling.

I usually say I roll with Canadian English but in reality I just mix and match standards I think make sense. Oh, the joys of having ESL (E3L?).
