yeah i kinda thought that after i posted but im too hungover to edit it ahaha.

i have to admit sometime if i need a rifle ill walk to the car's trunk and then switch weapons (as if getting them out the car) but the balance i mentioned comes in here. Would you want gta to only let u have 2 guns, and only a shotgun if u have a trench coat to hide it? Its a minor realism issue rly, but i see your point.

Well, Rockstar could also have done it like the CoD4 people did. In CoD4 you can carry 2 Assault rifles and one RPG, and you see the weapons on the back)

GTA has:

Pistols (pocket)

SMG's (pocket)

Shotguns (back)

Assault rifles (back)

RPG (back)

Thrown wepaons (pocket)

Sniper rifles (back)

 

So, it's totally possble in real life

You got all the realism you needed in IV, and because its missing a lot of the cool stuff we're only now getting in TBOGT, TBOGT will have 10x the replay value IV does. If you want realism, go play the SIMS. Stop giving Rockstar a reason to keep down the realism path. And they're not turning into Saints Row 2, Saints Row 2, bit everything about San Andreas. Im glad rockstar is finally getting back to their SA roots. I dont like to feel limited. In SA I never felt that. Car customization, Monster Trucks, Tanks, Attack Helicopter, Fighter Jet.. Honestly, give me all that good stuff back, the only way Rockstar knows how.

Hello you're playing a game where the protagonist pullls weapons out of his a*s, survives car crashes that send him flying through winscreen, outruns the police with a 6 star wanted level, can take several shots from a gun and not even stumble, can dial a number without touching the keypad on his phone.

get the f*ck out of here with unrealism claims. RPGs exist. Gelicopters exist. Parachutes exist. Swat tanks exist, satchel charges exist. ITS A GAME. you can't have a game fully realistic because you'll lose the fun (take driver - getting pulled over for being one MPH over the speed limit SUCKED) you have to have a balance between realism and fun gameplay and, while i'll admit that Vanilla IV did lack some f*ck around features, it did have that balance. if you dont like the parachute, dont use it, plunge to your death and fail the mission. IF you dont like the RPGs dont use them. just dont b*tch about the game being "unrealistic". Its a game, get over it.

Also, I am not disappointed at all. I am very happy with what I am seeing from BOGT. It's looking better than GTA IV Vanilla to me. GTA IV's "realism" was great but I wasn't hooked on it.

I was happy with IV and it's less over the top presentation. Having options is always great and I can kinda agree with the OP because I wouldn't want GTA trying to compete with SR2. I'm not too worried about that because that game really seems to cater to a "different" audience. The direction the series took with this last last game WAS a 10/10 for me. It was clever satirical fun the kept it's characters interesting and it's story in a perspective where over the top features didn't dumb down the game. I myself wouldn't need a ton of gimmicks to keep me interested.

 

I do welcome new features as long as they do work somehow with the story. I already know that when Rockstar does it they will be polished and feel like a blast. Basically what I think is, this is next gen gta and it should feel more like a live action action movie with comedy and less like a cartoon comedy with action.

Some of you people are probably new to GTA.

 

When I first got GTA on PSX, all I did was blow up cars and shoot people. I did the same in GTA 2, the same in GTA 3, the same in Vice City..

 

then came Mafia. That game had one of the more solid stories in video gaming history, and that's the game I play if I want a "realistic" GTA as opposed to the GTA that has always been and should always be: goofy and fun.

 

SA perfected this, and it is still to this day my favorite GTA (followed by IV). IV brought GTA to a new level, relatively speaking though there was more work to be done from scratch so they didn't even have time to implement as much features as SA, so of course I forgive Rockstar because the core gameplay is very polished and the storyline nice.

 

Now speaking of Saints Row, what bothers me about it is not the silly stuff you can do, but its retarded "soul" and "attitude" that reeks of 12-year-old rap-listening gangster wannabe chavs who fantasize of smoking weed, wearing stupid clothes with one short tucked up to the knee, drive in a car with the poorest physics then enjoy average ragdoll animations, then play through the nonexistent dry story.

 

 

So I'm very glad that BOGT is against Saint Row's "gangsta" image by featuring a prominent gay character in lavish company and by playing as his right hand Luis. BOGT to GTA IV will be like Vice City to GTA 3 - damn sweet!

 

 

 

Now what I just wrote even confuses me, but what I'm trying to say is that BOGT is nothing like Saints Row. SA's silly features came way before SR was even announced.
