Sorry for double post.

Made a new one for fallout 3 but it looks to army-ish, anybody got any ideas to make it look more like fallout.

The Vault-Tech Vault is the main introduction settings in Fallout games, so for the skin I suggest you use the Vault theme. If you ever played this game then you will know what the Vault looks like. inlove.gif

That is great! Are you studying web design? I am but I'm not that good at the design part.

No I'm not studying that at the moment but I might do as a hobby or something.

What, like metal, rusted, worn and stuff like that.

Yes! But use Vault 101 theme, where everything is in good condition, shiny metals and other crazy scientist tool. No need for the rust, worn out metals etc.

oh yeah, that is a good idea, thanks.

anybody else got more ideas.

Edit: I don't think textures will work on this template.

I tried roughing it up a bit, although i think it might be a little too much.

Another Edit:

Got rid of those big chunky news boxes and replaced them.

Very good, nice and simple. Everything is clear, laid out neatly and easy to read. And that is what is going to attract traffic and keep people coming. The only critics I would have is that they're a bit bland. Maybe some fancy GFX like for the banner. Although there is allot you can achieve design wise, there are some aspects that can only be achieved with code to function. The final critic I would have is that both templates look very similar. Maybe try different layouts, designs. For instance instead of having a Global Navigation down the side, you could have a horizontal local navigation with drops downs (but again, coding is required). However I also like the latest news/forum topic bit on the Fallout theme, and the way you have laid these out means it's very easy to update with news, like a blog.

Overall, top notch icon14.gif .

As you can see by the sig, I'm coding and designing a website myself. But I teach myself, so things can get frustrating. If I was experienced enough and had time, I would offer to help, but I can't. I don't think there are many people willing to do it for free either, if you check Web Development forums you will see that there are sections where you can hire people to do your site, with the price differentiating, depending on the task size. The only option I think you would have is asking a close friend with such knowledge to help you.

Thanks for the feedback.

I tried my best to keep them clean and attractive, I know they are a bit bland but they are just for practice.

They look similar as I had ran out of ideas at the time but now I can think of hundreds of ways to design the navigation. I am not happy with my fallout 3 design, it was not the way I had in mind, i drew a rough sketch on a bit of paper of how I wanted it, i think I might redesign the whole thing.

Although I haven't got any coding skills at the moment, I will do in the future as my current course has a hour program on where you have to choose an area that is not related to my current course.

I also have another site in development, which is being coded by a friend.

EDIT:

In my original design I had a front page layout like MGS:TUS http://www.metalgearsolid.org/ with the Navigation on top and you had to click news to get to the news bit and on the front page had images, updates, Picture of the week, a login bar ETC.

Might design that later.

Edit 2:

What I had in mind was something similar to this.

I might do one similar to this http://i31.tinypic.com/bhfthz.png MGS TUS old layout as it looks more fallout-y
