Vice_City69
On the GTA NeXt forums, all I ever see are topics about what fans want and expect in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto. I always thought there should be a topic about what NOT should be on the neXt GTA. And now I finally made one! (I even made an awesome pic with paint ) OK, so, rant all you want about the things you would like to be changed, removed or replaced for the neXt awesome Grand Theft Auto! Akavari
get rid of lame friend activities. instead have it so you call a friend and they arrive and fight for you as a henchmen like Dwayne's backup. They start out with 9mms and body armor, but pick up better weapons from dead bodies. You could then make teams of these friends and rob banks, have epic firefights with the police, etc. Edited September 2, 2009 by akavari112

We don't always have enough time for that in the real world, so why should we waste what spare time we have on our own to go appease more virtual friends? But what I think should replace it is instead of having relationships with friends, you have it with criminal organisations/law enforcement. Grease their palms or do them favours and act nicely to them, and you'll get equal treatment. Go machine-gunning their employees/guards and assassinate gang members, keep interupting the cops' enjoyment of doghnuts or just do missions against them, and you'll get drive-bys, assassination attempts, survailance pizza vans and trench-coat wearing spooks and getting tailed by mysterious cars with blacked-out windows. Now that's a crime sim - not f*cking going riding a helicopter with some bullshark testosterone-juiced VIP car modder with self-image insecurity! Akavari
yeah i'd want more friends like Dwayne who don't take any sh*t rather than fat smelly losers like Roman and Little Jacob.
Lunatic Brandon
Friends and activities. The friends feature is fine but it needs to be reworked. Friends should be able to perform crimes with you and sell you things that may be useful like weapons or vehicles. Extensive weapon customization. Maybe small thing but people are asking for SOPMODS. foohy
-I think the friend activities should remain but should not affect friend abilities. Basically, you have to work to get a friend ability but once you have it you have it forever. -"Rare" cars. It is absolutly retarded tha R* put time and effort into making a vehicle that only appears once or twice in a few missions and is inaccessable otherwise...at LEAST give the cars a spawn point like the Sultan RS! This was a problem in San Andreas too with the Euros...

EzaH
Permanently remove all the whiners and Spielberg Jr's off the world. Seriously though, remove the generic gun sounds. Also, the stunt jumps and the massive amounts of 'packages'. It's annoying. I mean you could keep the jumps there but don't make it affect your 100%, I beg you R*. And by generic gun sounds I hope you mean the San Andreas AK sounding just like the M4. Otherwise, I am quite happy with the gun sounds in GTA4. There should be something going wrong every time you go out. Like, you'll be playing pool, and suddenly Dimitri's henchmen show up, that kind of thing. They should be missions, and not always be interrupted. Only once in a while, but more often than you would expect in real life. I can't really think of anything I want removed from the game, only hundreds of things I want added back into it with the same attention to detail everything in IV got. mkey82
I'm utterly against the friends feature as is now. It sucks major balls. I'm not against pathologically, just modify it somewhat. A quick and easy "don't call me, I'll call you option" would be fine with me. the whole general idea of distancing GTA from world of crime is something I would not like to see in sequels. It's not that GTAIV misses many features previously present, but it does not evolve on it and it definitively puts the accent on the wrong stuff. For example, I might be more inclined to push dope (actually only deliver packages) for Jacob if I actually needed the money. Also, not to have my phone ring all the time would be a nice change of pace. Crap, they even make you feel bad for not responding, Dwayne is the most pathetic one, but Roman is pretty f*cking close. They are all like "OMG, you don't want to be my friend I'm gonna tell on you... buhuf*ckinghu!!11!!". And yes, I know you can put the phone on silent, but then you block the story mode and it resets often. It's not like I have something against the theater and clubs and all that crap, but I would really like to see those resources and man-hours spent on something that has more to do with GTA. That stuff is fine and dandy, I'm always interested in options and whatnot, but they should prioritize.

I liked the TV but it gets old after the first time. Like many other things in GTA games, if you don't like it, then don't use it. Personally, i think they should incorporate the TV into some missions (i.e., watching the news to find a certain person, sending a pic of a commercial to someone on the cell phone, etc.) But if they removed it, I'm sure many people would be upset. Rockworm
im bummed that this time we didnt have taxi, ambulance, fire fighter, and other various odd jobs. these were some of the funnest things in the older GTA games like especially the taxi for me because it gave me an excuse to drive around with my independent radio going and make some money on the side. thats another thing theres no businesses to own like in san andreas when you finish certain stuff the money icon in front of the place builds up money. im getting very poor with Nico and aside from the occasional rich person killing and shop robbing (these gives you very little money) i dont know any way of making money in this game and it sucks. this is something that desperatly needs to come back next game. Girish
Police chasing you when you crash into them. It's lame, and it always ends in a 6 star wanted level. Are you serious? A 1 star wanted level is perfectly justified if you're going to crash into a cop car or run over a cop. And getting rid of a 1 star wanted level is probably the easiest thing, especially with IV's new system. I can't remember getting into a single chase that went up to a 6 star wanted level. That was just for the drama girish It's easy to avoid yeah, but it's pretty annoying when you are actually busy with something (street race, vigilante), especially if it's on a timer. Girish
Oh, did you mean that it annoys you so much that you end up killing everyone in your way which, in turn, raises your wanted level? If so, then it completely went over my head. But attracting a wanted level for messing with the cops is fine; just like in real life and it also adds to the difficulty aspect of the game. Just be happy that they don't give you wanted stars for breaking traffic rules...yet. If you've played Driver: Parallel Lines, you'll know it was kinda annoying. Although, I agree with you regarding the Vigilante missions. They should not attract a wanted level. That was one of the few things that pissed me off in San Andreas. Also, forcing you to do certain things at a stretch should be scrapped like those 12 consecutive level of Vigilante, Firefighter and Paramedic. They should increase the amount of levels but the player should not be forced to finish them in one go.
