Pubicmonkey
You don't have to have Xbox Live Gold to buy the episodes and play them. You could just buy a 360 and buy Episodes from Liberty City. You will have to pay if you want to play any of the games online, though. You can also buy the episodes with a silver account. epoxi
Also, stop calling me a cheapskate and telling me to "man up" because in my opinion I'd feel like a sucker by paying for XBOX Live: Microsoft aren't doing anything to provide the multiplayer, that's work is already done by R* in the way they have designed the game...which as a consumer you have already paid for. Just because Sony can't link up their players correctly doesn't make it okay to charge XBOX users for such a menial task. Besides, why should I pay for a service which already has product placement like Netflix and so on?

(usually) but if that doesn't tickle your pickle, than don't get it. cheapskate... kidding.. or am i?
T1H8C7
Ya, Netflix is great if you already have it. imo, XBL is totally worth $50 a year. Absolutely it is. Xbox live is light years ahead of the Playstation network, looks, appearence, functionality and oh yeah streaming Netflix that cost about ten bucks a month. Call me a fan boy and ill slap the baby teeth out of your mouth, then send you a picture of my setup which includes; Xbox 360, playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii, so in a way i am a major fan of gaming and know a superior product when I see one. Xbox is no rip off cell phone companies with dropped calls is.

I dont hear anyone else that pays for xboxlive moaning. But if your still feeling mugged out then your going to have to accept that you will only be able to play the singleplayer portion of the game, But then wont you feel mugged out because then your only going to get half the game so it lose lose in what ever you decide in your opinion. Because you can make a little profile with your motto and have a custom picture? FullMetal
I agree with you on this man. Xbox is fun to play on and such but one of the big downsides is the fact that you have to pay a fee to play online. So called 'Microsoft Xbox Live' services... And although you can buy it in advance (pay it in advance)... it's still totally ridiculous. Especially if you see the prices of Xbox360 games! Xboxlive has had a long time to evolve since the first xbox and it keeps going from strength to strength thanks to the monthly subscriptions that the users pay, the more money thats pumped in the more features can be worked on and added, Hence the PS3 is still lacking behind aoart from DLC and demos. a good example of sonys hands off approach when it comes to updates for there consoles is the psp it took them 2 yeaqrs to add a graphic music equalizer to it from the psp's release even then it wasnt to great and didnt really keep up with the music well, something witch would have been sorted out by now if they were to charge for the service and users were moaning about it. sony decided to go down the route of were making a console to play games and blu ray, and the multiplayer is an added extra. wheras Xbox built there xbox 360 around there online community. Xbox is no rip off cell phone companies with dropped calls is. Its not a rip off, but its not light years ahead. You're talking about this like you're comparing the Xbox 360 to the PSOne. Its awesome, but its not that far ahead. They're direct competitors and each have pros and cons. More importantly it depends on the type of gamer someone is. I mean yes, the Xbox has had more time to evolve as oysterbarron said, but that doesn't mean its like a f*cking creation of god. BULLSEYEMK1
Wel i bought my 360 for TLAD and ive never regreted it, and im not going to get rid of it! Xbox live isnt that expensive as long as you stay off the subscription and buy pre paid cards when you need them.
shinsta312
If this is going to turn into another 360/PS3 war, then it's best if this thread is locked. BTW, Like everybody said, there's only one solution: Buy the 360 and buy a subscription.
OysterBarron
im just trying to justify why i personally dont see paying 40 pounds a year as a problem to me, but like you just said it depends on what type of gamer you are, i personally prefere playing my games online with my friends now than playing singleplayer and xbox live is the place to do that, paying for a subscription keeps out most of the whining little babys witch is a plus being a mature gamer myself. T1H8C7
I hope you dont get anything. As a matter of fact you could probably get a PS2 and play some 32 bit games, that seems to be more in your price range. As for everyone else who has their little two cents too add..I'm glad too see such a huge discussion over what this tool should do, Why dont you write Obama, he might have some good advice for you. Xbox Live is WAY better than PSN. 3. It's not really that expensive.. Buy the 13 Months card for i dunno 39,99/49,99$.

EzaH
Hi, I don't have a PS3 or an XBOX360, but I refuse to buy an XBOX360 because I don't want to be charged for playing multiplayer on my own console, with my own internet connection, with my own game which I emptied my wallet for. Frankly, on any level I think XBOX Live is a ripoff...but of course I accept that the console itself is a competent, advanced piece of technology. However, the obvious issue here is: as well as multiplayer, I want to play BOGT too...what do I do? What do I do? What do I do!? Thanks in advance. Edit: My computer is too weak for IV. I've only played the game once at a friend's house. But still want to get as much IV as I can for my money. I don't know man, I'll work something out between my playthroughs in BOGT. CharmingCharlie
Ok it is perfectly simple you have two choices :- Buy an xbox 360 and you can play TBoGT on 29th October Don't buy an Xbox 360 and wait to see what happens after the DLC has been released. The only person that can decide between those two decisions is YOU so there is little point posting a topic asking us. No one on this board knows whether the DLC is 100% locked to the 360 till the end of time. I personally do not own a 360 I own a damn good PC, I am not going to go out and buy a 360 to play the DLC (I think you would have to be slightly deranged for that). I will wait to see if the DLC makes it to my platform of choice. If it does great if it doesn't then Rockstar obviously don't want my money.
