gamefarter
I've been thinking about whether or not you could get your parachute tangled up, or caught on a lamp post or anything else for that matter. My question is what would you want? Would you like it like it was in SA where the parachute clips through objects, or would you like a more realistic parachute that would get caught up in things like helicopter blades and other objects like trees, leaving you dangling and have to break free and fall the rest of the way down? I actually hope it is more realistic, making things more of a challenge, and creating scenarios that would be both funny and fun. But what would you all prefer? Guns N R0se
Realistic please. Also... hanging to death by parachute... would be an interesting way to die
DeLMrcs
That could get annoying, especially if you go off in another direction. I remember thinking about maybe a wind effect, where once the parachute is deployed, the wind can either help or hinder you but again I don't think it would work too well. Slomojoe
I would like it more if it you had to be careful with it. Since they're in the game, I want them to be realistic
liquidus119
I could go either way. I'm hoping they go with less realistic though, less people to whine and cry then.
Enjoii
Personally I think that one of the best approaches would be to cut the lines for the parachute when you hit something like a tree. Not the height of realism, but it's better than just passing through things.
Feral Slug
no, you can press the deploying button to cut the lines if it gets tangles. that way you can try to be rescued in mp.
cultivator
Realism is what's needed in today's games, as well as future games. So this idea gets a big thumbs up.
Royal55
I was wondering if killed while using the parachute mid air, what will happen?
Enjoii
I was wondering if killed while using the parachute mid air, what will happen? Interesting question. Either the parachute will stay on your body and you'll probably float to the ground, or the parachute could basically just disappear and leave you to fall. Out of the two, I would imagine it being the first.
cultivator
It'd be pretty odd seeing the chute just disappear.
Enjoii
It'd be pretty odd seeing the chute just disappear. True, but it would take a lot more work to make it happen realistically. The parachute would need to react properly to bullet holes, damage from tearing etc.
cultivator
I doubt they'd go into that much detail, but hopefully they can think of something logical.
Cilogy
I would like the realism. I mean I would like to see is you can die by flying straight in to the ground or into a building. I mean hopefully it won't be like SA where when you slam into a building you just bounce off.
Benjimino234
The 'bouncing' off walls should definitely go, but the tangling I'm not so sure. Maybe a clip? But also how it reacts to gunshots. Like there's like 2 helis and you ditch out and you deploy it you get torn to shreads by the bullets that ok. But the actually material getting holes and you end up falling and dying anyway. Or even more annoying parachutes failing, because in real life sometimes they do. That's why there's always a 2nd. But I doubt R* would do 'normal' parachute failure, cause that would be just annoying.
Schweppez
The trees in GTA 4 arent very big. I wouldn't mind getting tangled in the branches the fall wouldn't hurt too much.. I think it would b kind of funny. Maybe even getting caught on a street light or traffic light. LOL.
CryptReaperDorian
How about getting the parachut tangled around the cup that the Statue of Happiness is holding? Then you can give her the finger to her stupid transvestite grinning face. CryptReaperDorian hides from Hillary Clinton.
supermortalhuman
I think it will be beyond SA because I think that's the only reason the game "removed features" since SA. I think we would have flown a plane if they had the HD treatment the cars got. I think we would have been able to steal the train if they made it able to derail realistically. But, speaking of realistic, it wasn't realistic to expect an HD sa when sa couldnt be possible without LCIII first and VC next. So, I think we'd still be waiting to play the game if we got a successor to SA, so instead, we got LC, it expanded, and I can't wait for the next game after the episodes. xTRLx
I think the parachute shouldn't clip through objects. Imagine flying down into times square and clipping a billboard or something. Suddenly Luis would just fling from his parachute, smacking a moving taxi on the way down, awesome.
Carnage1120
Can you imagine getting tangled into helicopter blades? I could imagine hilariously being spun around and launched hundreds of feet away.
PearlHarborPants
Well, when you land, its cool to see Luiz quickly cutting the lines of the parachute by itself and just leave it on the street for cars and bikes to run over it...about the parachute with bullet holes.... its a possibility and for the tangling part.... meh, just needs practice.. like the helis
gamefarter
Can you imagine getting tangled into helicopter blades?I could imagine hilariously being spun around and launched hundreds of feet away. That would be completely dope in my opinion, and things like that would more than make up for the occasional hardship of getting caught on a billboard, or on a lamp post when we don't want to. With euphoria I really think the more realistic approach is the way to go, so hopefully R* agrees and put in the work to make it happen. Imagine being able to "ring" your parachute around the nose or the engine of a jumbo jet as it takes off from the runway...vice city here we come. lol
ldee
This kind of realism only adds to the fun. So definitely, yes.
XAF226
I would like to be tangled in random sh*t from the lines. It would also be fun to just twirl around before you pull the parachute.
stinomontana
i hope that you can shoot atleast a handgun or drop some grenade with the parachute a hangglider like in farcry 2 would be sweet to
spektrall
It'd be such a disappointment if you had a parachute but couldn't shoot a weapon while using it... I'm with the people who want realism - getting it caught on things and being torn to shreds by bulletholes.

spektrall
It'd be unrealistic for your average skydiver to pull that off, but Luis Lopez on the other hand...

No, I think it's perfectly reasonable, ofcourse, free-aim would have to be used to a certain extent but reading the article from America Today it sounds as if you can... gamefarter
Well, seeing how we can undo ourselves from the parachute, this definitely gives me added hope that the parachute can get caught on objects, and we can just disconnect from it and fall the rest of the way down. I will love R* forever, if they made it like this, it would be so much cooler, and add another degree of difficulty for the base jumping mini game.
