moty95
Hello! I'm new here so please forgive me if i posted this on the wrong forum section either this was allready posted by someone else. I need a bit of help. You see I bought GTA The Trilogy for PC. For now I mostly play GTA San Andreas but I enjoy Vice City the same (GTA III I've had it before and finished it). Anyway I started modding since I had GTA III. I don't think it was original game because you could have played it just copying the game file from a CD (course didn't have radio neither) and could have played it without that CD. But modding it was really simple. Specially the player. Now I'm not the type of guy who edits full game, or even small details. Consider me newbie at modding. Enough with the drama story, time to say what I have to say. You see I wish to edit San Andreas rims. That's right. The wheels. And I don't want to download any pre-made modds because almost any mod that I have tryed to add to my game (vehicle mod, texture mod, player mod) simply didn't work. Either my computer isn't competible either I have a different game version. Anyway I can't fix that so I tryed modding myself. If you can't help me to much, just tell me where to find the .txd files of all the rims in the game. I found a few but they weren't all. I'm practicaly looking for the wheels you can buy in the game. All I've found were the .dff files of these wheels and I'm not so good at modding(yet) to edit these kind of files. Anyway if I could I would have needed the .txd files then too and I also don't have the required tools to edit .dff(didn't download because, for me, now, it just seems a bit too hard). So it's just that. Tell me where to find the .txd files of all the wheels (if they exist ). Thank you and sorry I made you read so much. ~moty
LYTEDA1757
ok the models folder go to generic and you will see the vehicles txd which cotains the wheel textures of the game wheel modding is easy its just the way they make the files thats trickylike you might have the put there texture file in this folder or in the gta3.img file now dont forget that when you add these wheels and they have their own textures you must go to your data file open maps then open veh_mods then open veh_mod file and replace the textures you want it to read like so dff txd 1073, wheel_sr6, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1074, wheel_sr3, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1075, wheel_sr2, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1076, wheel_lr4, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1077, wheel_lr1, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1078, wheel_lr3, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1079, wheel_sr1, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1080, wheel_sr5, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1081, wheel_sr4, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1082, wheel_gn1, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1083, wheel_lr2, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1084, wheel_lr5, vehicle, 100, 2097152 1085, wheel_gn2, vehicle, 100, 2097152 thats the origanal reading---so add the dff's and where i labeled txd those will be what you change so if the new texture file is called rims you do this 1073, wheel_sr6, rims, 100, 2097152 1074, wheel_sr3, rims, 100, 2097152 1075, wheel_sr2, rims, 100, 2097152 1076, wheel_lr4, rims, 100, 2097152 1077, wheel_lr1, rims, 100, 2097152 1078, wheel_lr3, rims, 100, 2097152 1079, wheel_sr1, rims, 100, 2097152 1080, wheel_sr5, rims, 100, 2097152 1081, wheel_sr4, rims, 100, 2097152 1082, wheel_gn1, rims, 100, 2097152 1083, wheel_lr2, rims, 100, 2097152 1084, wheel_lr5, rims, 100, 2097152 1085, wheel_gn2, rims, 100, 2097152 and it should work if not write back
LYTEDA1757
oh and for your v2 to not crash and be fully moddable try this i have over 100 cars and hundreds of new textures and clothes thats a way but if you want to play the mission the gta3 img dat file size cannot be changed so wat you can do is copy your player img file and paste it on your desk top this will be your new car holder----delete the contents inside of the player img file on the desktop---------when its empty rebuild it--now rename it from player.img to images-----step 1 is done---now this is the most important part-----go to the date file(by the way this is to fully mod v2 without changing the root of the game)-----look for the GTA dat file and open it-----it will look like this at the top # # Load IDEs first, then the models and after that the IPLs # IMG DATA\PATHS\CARREC.IMG IMG DATA\SCRIPT\SCRIPT.IMG IMG MODELS\CUTSCENE.IMG change it to this # # Load IDEs first, then the models and after that the IPLs # IMG MODELS\IMAGES.IMG IMG DATA\PATHS\CARREC.IMG IMG DATA\SCRIPT\SCRIPT.IMG IMG MODELS\CUTSCENE.IMG and move the images file to the models folder-----------step 2 is done----------------------- now add any thing that you would put in you gta3.img file in here-------ok the trick is the you must make the game read this image log so what you do is reroute so say you wanna add a car and its a picador swap you would put the modded car in the image file (dff and txd) (this goes for buildings, tags, and all gta3.img files) then open the gta3.img folder go to the picador and make the letters .dff or .txd into .old ex. in image file picador.dff picador.txd of new car then rebuild ex. in gta3.img file picador.old picador.old dont rebuild just close so if you dont like a mod delete it from the images.img file and go to your gta3.img file and change the old back to .dff or .txd "note the dff is always the bigger one-because the txd and dff will both say .old at the end any you can play the game from start to finish with no problem an no downgrade but you can repeat cannot use cleo 3 with this method. as far as the gta3_int and player files of the models folder you can replace items directly into them and the game wont crash but back them up anyway.
