I just love the Stalker Ragdoll. It's just awesome. People simply don't die normally, either they fall pathetically to the ground in f*cked up positions or get catapulted around madly. Some great laughs there.

Skate. and Skate.2 have fun physics.

Skate 2 has some fun and sometimes realistic physics. I love it biggrin.gif.

Best physics in a game up to know? GTAIV in my opinion (from the games I've played and seen). Though it still has clipping problems and such the movements look really accurate and realistic!

My jaw hit the floor when I saw the dead bodies of the enemies I`d killed, lifelessly suspended in the water of a room I`d just flooded in the game Shadow Complex on XBL. The game uses the Unreal engine from Gears of War.

Also on XBL is Trials HD, a physics based 2.5D sidescroller an amazing showcase of gravity and G-force. The guy in this clip crashes a lot so you get to see some top ragdolls

Push a person off a set of stairs and watch how the persons limbs spin and all.

Porrasturvat aka Stair dismount. The whole game is you pushing a guy down a set of stairs to do maximum damage. There's a truck one called Rekkaturvat too, plus a new one in a sauna of all places. They are awesome fun. Link.

the young hooligan

Motorstorm has some pretty cool ragdoll physics. Especially when you fall off your bike in mid air, hit some random cliff, fall on your head and then get hit by a truck driving past.

Ha, good times lol.gif

but he's right. gta4 does not uses a "ragdoll" physics engine. it uses euphoria:

euphoria brings Dynamic Motion Synthesis (DMS) onto Playstation® 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

With euphoria, animations are not canned but are generated on-the-fly by the hardware's processors as the game is played. Every tackle is your tackle, every haymaker is your haymaker.

Previously, animation data had to be manually created (through key-framing) or recorded (through motion capture). This is often expensive and laborious, and results in static, non-interactive data.

euphoria is instead based on a full simulation of a 3D character, including body, muscles and motor nervous system. This creates fully interactive animations that act and react differently every time.

ragdoll engines don't focus on that kind of realism.

apparently the first game to use ragdoll physics was a game called Jurassic Park: Trespasser its was mocked in its day but was a pioneer apparently in physics.

apparently it inspired the makers of such games like half life 2 and far cry to employ these features in there games even though the actual game of Jurassic Park: Trespasser itself was seen as a big joke.

What's highly ironic about Hitman is that it was the first major commercial video game to use ragdoll physics, but they're far behind everyone because they use that same old physics code.

Jurassic Park: Trespasser is a great game. I never played it at the time I played it a couple of years ago. It deserves a proper remake (since it was a rather buggy game).

God, they should make new and better Jurassic Park games... it has so much potential.

Trespasser was also one of the first games to use BUMPMAPS/SPECULAR MAPS if I'm not mistaken... long before other games used this technology! Though I think it was a commercial flop (and also a flop according to the reviewers).

I just enjoyed it since I am a Jurassic Park fan...
