Dark Wizard
I activated my passwords from Security after I pressed F2 when my laptop started. I mean the HDD password, Supervisor password and User Password. Now I don't know how to desactivate them because I have to do this for tomorrow cuz I am going to fix it somehow. It is the same laptop, Acer Aspire 3515. Can you tell me what I have to do to desactive them? Need a fast help, please! Thanks!
Star-Lord
Since I'm not really sure which you're after I posted all three ways to solve your current problem. BIOS password You'll have to remove/reseat the CMOS battery. Take it to a repair shop since it involves taking the laptop apart. Unless you're incline to do it yourself. Acer System password Acer eRecovery and Acer disk-to-disk recovery are protected by a password that can be changed by the user. Follow the steps below to change the password in Acer eRecovery. 1 Boot to Windows XP. 2 Press <Alt> + <F10> to open the Acer eRecovery utility. 3 Enter the password to proceed. The default password is six zeros. 4 In the Acer eRecovery window, select Recovery settings and click Next. 5 In the Recovery settings window, select Password: Change Acer eRecovery password and click Next. 6 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process. XP Login Password (Boot into Safemode as Administrator) 1 . Click - START MENU 2 . Select "RUN" 3 . RUN "mmc" ( Microsoft Management Console) Select "New Window" - Console Root 4. Click "File Tab" 5. Select " Add / Remove Snap- in " 6. Click "Add" 7 select "Local User and Groups" From the category 8. Click OK 9. Click user (You will see all User accounts) 10. Right-Click on any user you want to change 11. Choose "Set Password" 12. Type NEWPASSWORD - and click OK. You're Done! Reboot. Star-Lord
It didn't worked. The problem is that I can't run my laptop, the Windows is f*cked up, the laptop is. Then I guess the only thing you can do is boot from your Windows CD when prompt "boot from CD" hit any key. Hit F6 if you need to install Sata drive drivers. Note: If your Windows CD is XP with Service Pack 2 0R 3 you can skip F6 all together. After Windows finishes loading all necessary files and you arrive at the blue screen hit F8 and continue. Now press R for repair. From there on just follow the prompts, their pretty easy. Windows will delete only system files leaving all your documents, photos, music etc,etc intact. Good Luck. Sometimes repairs will fix your system, sometimes the problem is more severe and the only solution is doing a full format and a clean install. Hope that won't be the case for you. Good Luck!
