If they admitted it was actually based on a movie character and an actor's likeness they'd have to pay for rights. I love Rockstar as much as anybody but I don't believe everything they say, especially when they get caught with their pants down. In this early artwork, Niko isn't just wearing similar clothes, he's wearing exactly the same clothes. Niko is obviously based on the Behind Enemy Lines character, just like Rosenberg is based on a character from Carlito's Way... ... and Roman is based on a character from The Guru (2002).
