Mike Tequeli
What is it about the torrent that bothers you?

Pico
What is it about the torrent that bothers you? I just don't want him to download torrents. he always downloads torrents of Full Album of different artists. What a piece of sh*t. Google it, I'm sure there's plenty of ways. Or just create an admin account that he can't access, then give him a less privileged account so he can't install programs.
M. H. Hunter III
assuming he isn't the smartest you could block the port he runs or a range of ports using the router on his internal ip address. But torrenting albums shouldn't be a big problem for you, unless he has an assload going at the same time. Mike Tequeli
I find the main problem is that while a bittorrent program is running the network slows down, if you are using the same computer as him then there is no problem. Exit the program while you are using the internet and it won't slow you down. If you are using another computer on the same network just get him to use torrents only at night. Not in Canada, though!
SyphonPayne
Lol the more you people condone his brother's behavior, the more likely it is for this topic to be locked . Anyway it's already been suggested, but if you're using a router you can block ports from his MAC address and/or local IP. Also if you're on a router, make sure the torrent ports aren't open, that will keep him from uploading, which in turn will slow down his torrents considerably, and might discourage him. Also make sure UPnP is off. If it's the same computer, as previously suggested make sure he is running on a limited account, and use your administrator account to uninstall any torrent programs. Mike Tequeli
Using BitTorrent isn't illegal to my knowledge, it's what you transfer. There are theoretically legal files that would be downloaded using a torrent program, so I wouldn't think of it as a problem. I still don't understand what his problem is though, whether it's a bandwidth thing or just some weird moral problem.
Waste
Get on his computer and throttle the upload speed of his torrent program.
Otter
Yes, in theory, he could be downloading copyright free 'albums'. But let's be realistic. Anyhow - I can understand his angst, at least from the perspective of one who hates his stuff being used behind his back. I'd just tell the f*cker to stop using my computer completely.
