YoungJoe94
Okay so I want to upgrade my eMachines D620 Laptop, from 1GB of RAM, to 2GB (Maximum). But I am still trying to figure out which RAM my laptop needs. Crucial said I needed, "DDR2 800MHz PC2-6400 200-PIN SODIMM". But since I only order from Amazon, I tried to find that type memory on there, but there are more than one and they all have different names and brands and different companies that make them. I know the type I need but have found a couple like these: RAM1 RAM2 Which of these would be the better choice, and would they even work? All help appreciated. kingvercetti
Which D620 do you have? A google for specs returns a couple of different models, for example the D620-261G16Mi or the D620-5150, both taking different speeds of DDR2. However, if you can download CPU-Z, then run it and post a screenshot of the "Memory" tab then we'll be able to find out what speed RAM you need. RAM2 would be matched with your current RAM stick according to CPU-Z. You could throw it in with your current stick for 2GB. EDIT: Weird thing is the picture is DDR1 RAM heh, but since the description says DDR2 667, then I'm sure it's DDR2. Especially since DDR1 doesn't go past 400MHz. YoungJoe94
Cool, but over the net and other forums people are saying this laptop goes up to 2gb of RAM while others say 3gb, and I don't want to buy too much otherwise I'll have to send it back. Democrab
This says 4Gb worked and I don't see why not, the Memory Controller is the same as the ones used on the desktop CPUs, you'd have to get two of these and a 64bit Operating system for that all to work fine. (You need a 64bit OS for it to see more than 3.25Gb RAM.)
