DanManUtd
Atabey Island "Where only the cleverest and the strongest survive" Contents: General Info Game Controls Playing options Basic Story Detailed Story Object of the game Features/Gameplay Skills Personalities Diary Items Genre: Free-Roam RPG/Survival/Creative Based on: Fallout 3, Stranded II and Spore Background: Atabey means "Mother Earth" in Taino, a native Caribbean language Controls: Playing options: Story Mode - You follow a story based around the game Tutorial Mode - Self-Explanatory Free-Form - Create you own character, choose an island OR a randomized island with settings chosen, I'm torn between the two. Design Mode - Design buildings, costumes etc without actually playing Basic Story: Story Mode: You've shipwrecked on an island, you survive for a while, until your objectives make you come across others. You work your way up to chieftain of the colony/tribe. Your then faced with many different scenarios as the game goes on, such as criminals coming across, you defend your island from them etc. Detailed Story: The date in 25/8/2010. The game opens on the deck of a ship surrounded by people, you now choose your Gender and your age. You meet many people, you go into your room, this is essentially a very basic tutorial. During speaking with various people, they ask you questions and you choose your voice pitch. This will contribute to your persons personality (see below for details). You then move into your bedroom, you look in the mirror (as you're stuck in First-Person Mode) and now you create your character. [cutscene] As you walk out of the room the you hear an explosion and a alarm goes off. You feel the floor below you turn and rumble. You hear screams of mothers and they're children. You can see water at the end of the corridor where you can see the ship has almost split in two. Your only chance is to run. [in game] I now run towards the deck of the ship (you're now told how to sprint, jump and roll). I now find yourself on the top deck with the band still playing. I can see mothers and they're children on the lifeboats and they're partners hoisting them in. The horrors are scarring and mind-bending. I see dead bodies in the water - from some sort of explosion. 7000 people, about a 1000 were claimed by the sea. I see all the lifeboats gone or full-up. I will take my chances... Splash I have survived, now all I need, is to find a plank of wood (you now learn how to swim and grab things). Now it's time for the real game (will add more later). Idea of the Game: I've always wanted a game where you can, almost create your own tribe and design and create almost everything about it, with almost unlimited options with, when in Free-Form, an endless game. You eventually build until you have a town and it grows and grows until you get tired. There are 3 stages to the game in Free-Form: - Surviving - this is the survival part of the game when you have to build shelters made from twigs by your self. In this time you design your clothes you make the shelters you build, food you eat the weapons and tools you use - Commanding - this is when you become chieftain, now it's the time where you give orders, set up jobs to benefit you and the tribe. In this time, you design the huts and such, you design the town layout, you decide the religion beit you make your own. Once the village is large enough, you move on to the next stage. - Ruling - you rule the town you made. This goes on for as long as you want. You're also mayor, you have to keep your citizens happier then last time (because now they have access to better products), you need to setup some sort of currency, design your own flag. The possibilities are now endless. Other features: - Tiredness, hunger, thirst, temperature all need to be managed, otherwise you lose health. - Combining things to make other (sticks and stones to make hammers) - Designing a building - make sure you have enough materials. - Designing a weapon - will be given a damage/defense rating depending on how well designed it is. - Designing clothes - make sure you have what you want, different materials have different temperature ratings. - Rucksack - Like in Fallout 3 and Stranded, you've got a rucksack which can hold a certain amount of things. - Third and First Person Views - You can grab anyone dead or alive. - You can remove any of they're limbs and can be used in some form... - When you take someones clothes after killing they have bikini/trunks underneath, this is because it's a too controversial subject to go over. - In the final stage you can get married and have kids like in fable. There's also partial nudity here. - You also receive a likeness toward a person much like Sims, this can essentially be increased or decreased as you wish. The is helped and made worse by the affecting Personalities - Critical Hits are damage multipliers. These are placed at the head; the higher torso and the neck. Skills: - Skills add new/improve they're respective categories as they get better. The following skills so far are: Hunting/Killing Trapping Building Digging Fishing Farming Carrying Wood-Cutting Weaving Weapons Making Personalities/Abilities - These are decided upon starting Free-Form (where you choose them) and Story Mode where you're asked questions. There are 6 personalities to a person, they're are many of them. Diary - This is where you write in how you feel the days gone etc. It does not effect the game nor does in make time pass, but it should be a nice addition. Items and things: They can be customised with anything you can find, they're put in categories as each serves a purpose. They can be named and whatnot. Weapons' categories Spear Javelin Bow Axe Throwing Axe Sword Machete/Knife Boomerang Blow Pipe Club Throwing club Slingshot Weapons Infomation Mode: Meanings: Name = Name of the Weapon Weapon Type = A guide to what it generally does Resources Need = What is needed to create it Damage = The damage that it's done out of 100 hitpoints Critical Damage Multiplier = The normal damage multiplied. duns23
I love games like this. Sounds very promising, and I love how you've left it open within itself to create custom content.
DanManUtd
Thanks for the feedback! I agree wholly (obviously). I love things where you get to use your imagination and make something of your own, so I thought, get the openess and gameplay of Fallout and the creativeness of Spore. Stranded II is a brilliant survival game, and thats free. Besides, games like this where you're essentially free to do whatever tend to be very successful (like LBP or Sims). Only wish it were real. I'll hopefully be adding more in an hour or so.
Eminence
Reminds me a lot of Lost, too. Looks interesting, mate.
DanManUtd
Never seen Lost, but I've heard great things. I'll be adding a more detailed storyline to story-mode.
Eminence
Never seen Lost, but I've heard great things. I'll be adding a more detailed storyline to story-mode. At the show's outset, at least, it's the exact same concept. "Stranded on an unmarked island, only a few people live from the plane crash." It's exactly the same. Though the show quickly tangents off to a whole lot of other crazy sh*t, haha.

Chunk
Reminds me of Sims Castaway, mainly because of this: - Tiredness, hunger, thirst, temperature all need to be managed, otherwise you lose health. And don't worry, I liked Sims Castaway. But anyway, you've got a good thing going on here, mate. Keep it up.
