Don Garcia
The teaser trailer for Nolan's new film, Inception, dropped today. And here it is: Release Date: July 16, 2010 Inception will be a contemporary science fiction action movie “set within the architecture of the mind.” Leonardo DiCaprio plays the lead, a CEO-type, Marion Cotillard (La Vie en rose/Public Enemies) is his wife, Ellen Page (Juno) is a young college grad student and DiCaprio’s sidekick, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days Of Summer/G.I. Joe) plays an associate working for DiCaprio. Ken Watanabe will play the film’s villain, a man who is blackmailing Leonardo DiCaprio’s character. Tom Hardy (Bronson) is a member of DiCaprio’s team. Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins/Sunshine) and Michael Caine are also signed on, but no details are known about their characters. Tom Berenger and Lukas Haas have roles as well. A possible plot has been quietly floating around the internet for a while now, and here it is: Inception is about entering peoples’ minds/dreams. A technology to do so has been developed and is done through an injection. DiCaprio and his team work to enter the minds of other characters in order to retrieve/plant information. Interesting, if in any way even close. Also, in that trailer, it appears that DiCaprio and Levitt are the men fighting in the hall. And as side notes, Hans Zimmer is scoring the movie and the budget is apparently in the range of 150 million, higher. Nolan's been doing a lot of shooting on location. And there it is, looks pretty damn awesome. Edited May 8, 2010 by Don Garcia
papanesta
I was reading about this in Empire. It sounds awesome... and now it looks awesome.
TOGA62
I saw this trailer in theaters sometime last week. I was wondering what the hell it was all about. It made no sense to me until I read the little info piece you provided. Seems like it might be interesting enough to watch. Always up for a trippy sci-fi flick. Andyzoot
TOM BERENGER! Also, I like this film's website. You just know this is going to be another great film. Inception
Vanilla Shake
Leo + Levitt + Michael Caine + Nolan? Awesome sauce. DiCaprio has been just an awesome actor in these recent years, Levitt is shaping himself up to be a great actor (he was great in 500 Days of Summer), and Christopher Nolan is...well, Christopher Nolan. This looks awesome. TC718 / <629 / CF5
Machida
Both DiCaprio and Ellen Page have the potential to make my skin crawl. Oddly enough though I'm not already fleeing from the sight of this. I think it's because of that fat, cheerful looking fellow in the middle of the pic. Aroused yet proceeding with trepidation.
Slamman
I never had a care to see Momento, but I read a review just now for this film and the trailer that's out. They can't make a decision about what the film is supposed to be about, even Warner's description left them scratching their heads...so What is the plot for this thing??? Above descriptions not withstanding, is this newly written SciFi or based on a book, perhaps? I mean, there's some odd SciFi out there already, to be sure. Sounds like that one where people are injected into the Human Body and crossing that with Matrix and DreamScape...which I saw in the theaters, good film! Tom Berenger is a good call! I liked his best 80s/90s films Edited August 28, 2009 by Slamman
Hart
This actually looks brilliant, definitely sparked my interest. Loved the soundtrack, felt like Silent Hill mixed with Terminator. edit: One of the comments on the trailer, haha. Andyzoot
Brand spanking new Inception trailer Click me I really love that shot of the city folding over onto itself. But yeah, pretty pumped for this film...even if I'm not sure what is going on.
Don Garcia
Awesome trailer. Lots of action scenes, and that makes me smile. Looks like Ellen Page is a "chose one" who can alter the world with her mind. Or something; Leo is guiding/using her. I get the feeling Leo will be playing an anti-hero here. We also see that prior to the hallway fight, however that comes to pass, Leo and Gordon-Levitt are partners. So, mind detectives/thieves with the objective to steal dangerous thoughts? sh*t looks good. I could use a good mind f*ck movie.
3minty3
I love all Nolans work, particularly The Prestige. So when I heard of this film a few months back I was excited. The first trailer just left me confused, with no idea of the plot or ideas. That last trailer did help in understanding what this films about but im still a little puzzled. I know the film will be good but I just want to know what its about first.
Goodfella.
I'm really excited for this. Great cast and the visuals look amazing. I noticed Lukas Haas in the trailer. Quite cool seeing as he was in Brick with Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Kippers
DiCaprio has been doing some great stuff lately. Only film of his I was really looking forward too in the coming months is Shutter Island; I've now added this to the list. Definitely looks unique and different enough to catch my full attention. Great concept. Di Caprio, Caine and Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Hans Zimmer scoring won't necessarily guarantee a good movie, but I love seeing Levitt jumping into the spotlight lately. But the real stand out there for me is Tom Hardy. First saw him in the TV adaption of Martina Cole's book 'The Take' I fell in love with his acting instantly. Especially as Bronson. Don Garcia
Found some choice quotes from Nolan and his producer wife Emma Thomas, regarding the sheer size and scope of this film. Her: It’s something that we had been talking about on and off for seven or eight years. Coming off of the The Dark Knight, the only thing we really knew is that we wanted to do something more personal. It seemed like the right time to do this. The fact that it’s really just an enormous movie -- that wasn’t ever really a factor in the decision. This story lends itself to a movie of this size. Him: This is the biggest challenge I’ve taken on to this point. We’re trying to tell a story on a massive scale, a true blockbuster scale – the biggest I’ve ever been involved with. We tried to make a very large-scale film with The Dark Knight and with this one we wanted to push that even further. I grew up watching James Bond films and loving those and watching spy movies with their globetrotting sensibility.... We get to do that here, not just geographically but also in time and dimensions of reality as well. We get to make a movie that’s expansive, I suppose you’d say, in four dimensions. "Is it an international thriller? A story of madness and lost love? Or Hollywood’s very first metaphysical heist movie? The answer is 'all of the above,' according to writer-director Christopher Nolan." "A key part of the premise is corporate espionage by way of dream invasion, but motives and even reality are slippery in a film that toys with perception as its travels through time and space. The crew covered a lot of territory too, filming in six countries." Source.
makeshyft
Been a huge fan since Memento, but I hardly have to tell some of you that. This looks like another whack of Nolan excellence - the guy is yet to make a dud. Great screencap too, Hart. I got a laugh out of it.

Don Garcia
I guess I oughta bump this topic. There's been some substantial new info that's come out in the last couple of weeks. I'm lazy, so I'll only post a little. Search for the other stuff, it's quite good/informative. For one, Nolan confirmed the plot a while back, saying: Basically the film deals with levels of reality, and perceptions of reality which is something I’m very interested in. Its an action film set in a contemporary world, but with a slight science-fiction bent to it. Cobb [Leonardo DiCaprio's character], who is the center of things and expert in a particular technology that the film revolves around, has put this team around him [Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon Levitt]. It’s very much an ensemble film structured somewhat as a heist movie. It’s an action adventure that spans the globe. ~....AND the More Official Plot Synopsis~ INCEPTION stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a specialist in the new branch of corporate espionage -- he's a dream thief who plucks secrets from the minds of tycoons after pumping them full of drugs and hooking them up to a mysterious contraption. The problem, though, is the land of nod can be volatile -- as can DiCaprio's character, Dom Cobb, who is a wounded dreamer after the loss of his beloved wife. And FirstShowing reported on the WonderCon footage shown some time ago, revealing: The PASIV Device is the Portable Automated Somnacin IntraVenous device which is apparently what Leo DiCaprio's team has invented and uses to get inside the mind, or dreams, of people. The footage explained that Leo is the most skilled dream con artist and he uses his business front to get other CEOs to know this so that he can prevent any secrets in their mind from being unlocked and discovered (then he steals them). This is said dream machine: And here are 4 new images recently released by Warner Bros. Click for biggerness. It's been noted that the spinning hallway scene with JGL is gonna be dope as f*ck. makeshyft
I'm so pumped for this film -- you can't imagine. Look, Nolan is great. We have that down. But DiCaprio has been in stellar form for the last few years. Since The Aviator, he's just gotten better and better, so this is going to be one hell of a movie. Don Garcia
Warner Bros. have finally released the official synopsis for the film. Still unsure just what Inception is all about? Here: Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. This summer, your mind is the scene of the crime. Whoa snap.

Vanilla Shake
Just wanna note, the new Inception trailer that was attached to Iron Man 2, was f*cking incredible. Can't wait for it hit the interwebs, cuz it kinda wow'd me. When I went to the midnight screening they showed the 2nd trailer, which was released months ago. Then when the trailer ended everyone in the theater was looking at each other like "what the f*ck just happened". EDIT: New trailer is here. This wasn't shown when I went to see Iron Man 2. makeshyft
I am really anticipating this film. It looks beautifully shot, suspenseful beyond belief, and the depth of cast is staggering. There's a lot of talent up on-screen, from Nolan himself, to the writers and also the actors he chooses to work with. Bring this the f*ck on. 3minty3
Nolan really likes Michael Caine. The new trailer showed a good portion of what the story is about that I didn't know about. And those action scenes looked amazing. Can't wait.
Fnorg
I've never been a huge fan of Nolan's, but I'd see this based on the cinematography alone. Saw a five second snippet of something blowing up over DiCaprio, and it looked pretty damn rad, beautiful as sh*t. Too bad cinema quality sucks in my place.
