No wanted level-Cops are not chasing me at all

Hi everyone,

 

I am a new member here at gtaforums.............awesome place to be, great info..........

 

I was playing gta 4 on my previous laptop till 2 months back, untill my motherboard crashed.......... so just got a new PC 2 days back.......and I reinstalled my GTA 4 DVDs and reinstalled the new patch and the GFW update etc.......... game works perfect on maxed out settings..........

 

I had not backed up my saved games files but I had completed the game till "The Holland Play".............before my old PC had crashed...........so was feeling a little lazy to play from the beginning again......thats when I stumbled upon this site (good for me ), and from the FAQ section tried to download the saved game number 38 undressed to kill courtesy Fabio 206 and Charming Charlie..........

Followed instructions installed the xlive.dll etc............but it did not work, so then I removed the copied file from the saved games folder in the c\users\user\app data etc...........removed the xlive dll

 

Then I started playing GTA 4 from the beginning.............In 5-6hrs I completed till Street Sweeper, and thats when I realized that at the end of the mission I loose my stars immediately..........I dunno why...... I havent used any cheats at all .............ever............Its very frustating that this is happening, can someone please help me out with this...........I dont want to complete GTA 4 the easy way .......Its no fun this way I also dont want to start again from the beginning

 

Pls help me.

I'm a bit confused! Are you using your own game or a game that someone else has saved when the problem occurs?

I did a fresh install of GTA 4 on my new comp.......original DVDs.......patch 1.0.4.0, and new updated GFWL.......then I uploaded someone elses game after loading xlive.......found here in the FAQ section of the forum by fabio 206.........it did not work and GTA 4 did not initiate at all......then I removed the xlive thing.........and tried starting the game with the someone elses save file still in the save folder........it showed up as undressed to kill in the game menu and I tried loading it......it said unable to load pls check yur harddrive or something like that..........

 

NEXT..........Then I went to the C drive and removed that file also from the save game folder.........so basically I removed whatever I had added..........

 

THEN........I went back to GTA 4 and started playing the game from the beginning connected to GFWL...........I completed a lot of missions till street sweeper with Escuela.........and thats when I realized that I am not getting any wanted level at all.........makin the toughest part of the mission a cake walk......ie loosing the cops...........I had earlier........till 2 months back played the game on my old comp which had crashed so I knew the toughest part of this mission was to loose the cops..........

I think someone posted a fix for this issue; I'm not sure but I can't find it either. Use the search function and see if you can find any relevant topics. There have been a few in the past.

 

Does this happen on all of your saves? Even if you start a new game? If yes, the only thing that I can suggest is to revoke the license and then reinstall the game.
