Download Visual Studio Express (C# or VB.NET), then download the .NET ScriptHook, unzip and look at the example code. .NET Hook is the easiest way to go smile.gif

If you haven't programmed before, I would say .NET.

.ASI files are basically plain C++ dlls, and if you haven't programmed before - well, it will probably brainf*ck you. tounge2.gif

Imo .NET is way easier for beginning programmers.

For .NET, you can program in alot of languages, .NET languages are basically just 'syntaxes' around the framework.

Most used .NET languages are C# and VB.NET, C# has a more C++/Java syntax while VB.NET is all BASIC syntax again.

So yeah, if you want to work with C++, LUA or .NET, you'll first have to learn how the language works.

Eg, C# tutorials: http://www.functionx.com/csharp/

Then, you can download the .NET scripthook by HazardX and start writing scripts, there are some sample scripts included so once you are familar with C#/VB.NET it will be piss easy to start writing stuff for GTA IV. (atleast, it was for me happy.gif)

Best IDE ('coding environment') for .NET (imo) is Microsoft Visual Studio.

They provide Express Editions (free editions) for the major .NET languages.

So if you want to do C#, you should download Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition.

Registration is free aswell and you can download the software here. smile.gif
