Carnage1120
"Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham was selling out clubs and theaters for years before his first Comedy Central special, Arguing With Myself, aired in 2006. That was followed by two more specials, Spark of Insanity and Jeff Dunham's Very Special Christmas Special, all of which generated monster ratings for the network. Last year's Christmas special was the most watched in network history with 6.6 million viewers. So it seems like a no brainer for Comedy Central to step up and see what Dunham can do with his own half-hour series, The Jeff Dunham Show, which is slated to premiere October 22" http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/07/23/the-jeff...ral-in-october/

Fnorg
Meh. That's about all there is to it. I don't see why people still say "Silence, I kill you!", "LINDSEY LOHHHAAN" or whatever. But hey, as long as it generates cash for Comedy Central, I don't see why not.
Omnia sunt Communia
Jeff Dunham is a good comedian, don't get me wrong, but I don't like the idea of this show. Stand-up comedians should stick to that: Stand-up. I can see this being 30 minutes of Achmed The Dead Terrorist with splices of Walter and Peanut to keep the hardcore fans happy. I much prefer his other puppets, especially after listening to the words "SILENCE! I kill you," 101 times in the space of two hours. I don't have high hopes for this. Why not just create more TV specials or something?
Chunk
I don't like him or any of his puppets. My hatred's probably just a result of hearing "Silence! I kill you!" a hundred times as a ringtone though.
ass reamer
His shtick got old about 3 years ago, I don't know why he's still gaining popularity. It's amazing that a guy with a novelty act has hung around for this long. This show will probably suck, just like every other show Comedy Central has given to a stand-up comedian. The-King
As long as Dimitri Martin still has his own show I couldn't care less who Comedy Central gives a series. Unless it's Jim Gaffigan, than my dream comes true and perfection ensues. |PropagandaIncorporated:|: Steam:|: DeviantArt:|: Last.FM|

He's saying Chappelle Show was good, disagreeing with ass reamer's post. Mind of Mencia was f*cking garbage. This. Chappelle's Show was off the f*cking hook. It was genius. I'd rather they play reruns of the only two seasons it had than give Jeff Dunham a show. And Carlos Mencia is pure trash. I hate the guy with a passion. I like some of the Jeff Dunham's specials, but giving him a show that will no doubt be revolved around that f*cking overrated terrorist doll is a stupid move by Comedy Central. Then again, canceling Reno 911! was a stupid move by them as well. As long as South Park sticks in there I could give a flying f*ck anymore. CryptReaperDorian
I'm pretty much sick of the "Silence! I kill you!" thing, but otherwise I find Jeff Dunham to be pretty damn funny. It's actually even funnier when you go to one of his shows on tour. He does reuse most of his jokes he used on the DVDs, but he does add new ones. When I went to his last show in Green Bay he gave Peanut a new joke. It's about a Chinese restaurant guy. It's supposed to be like Nafuk's Taste of China Like Fish, but Peanut said it like "Naf*ck, taste of vagina like fish". You had to be there to even be a bit amused by the joke as for me it really doesn't work in text too well.

jimmy.
I highly dislike the xenophobic hack. He perpetuates some pretty horrible and destructive stereotypes. I don't find this guy funny at all. Ventriloquists are f*cking lame. Disregarding the racism, this is also true, too. Never found a ventriloquist funny. I'd love for Comedy Central to give Nick Swardson a show. Would be grand. Much better idea. Edited August 25, 2009 by jimmy.

chris
I hate this f*cking guy and his so-called 'comedy'. I doubt he is fond of you either good sir! I dont think that Jeff should get his own show, i cant see it living past a season or two anyways, i suppose he is quite funny and does do a good job with the puppets but like said before i think he should stick to specials rather then a series. Who knows though, its cool to speculate and all but it could turn about being a decent show, i would like to see The Chapelle Show make a return instead but what can ya do. cornedbeefsandwich
well, do we even know what it's going to be like? is it him with the dolls for half an hour on stage? or is it a skit show? neither one of these sounds too promising, but i'l check it out. trip
Just want to chime in to make it known that I can't stand Jeff Dunham. Aren't ventriloquists just one step above mime when it comes to entertainment? cornedbeefsandwich
you know what? f*ck jeff dunham. i want reno 911 back! then, i don't care. if i can have south park, and reno 911, then i don't are what kind of garbage they put on comedy central. it will just get cancelled anyway... shows like: secret girlfriend, michael and michael have issues, freak show, drawn together, half way home, lil' bush, ect. ALL GET CANCELLED. BECAUSE THEY SUCK. jeff dunham's show will be the same.
M. H. Hunter III
Aren't ventriloquists just one step above mime when it comes to entertainment? Not above. He's a ventriloquist. Jesus christ, that's a step below mime. Correction, one step above, because you know they actually talk and sometimes are funny. However I think this is a terrible idea to give him his own show, just like Tosh.0 is garbage. Why he got a series is beyond me, when he wasn't particularly funny in his special. What is surprising is that they haven't given Dane Cook a special, due to his popularity with teenagers and some adults for some reason. But back to Jeff Dunham, he should stick to the specials and off of the series. I would love to see Chapelles Show make more shows, but we all know that Dave has made an assload of money, and logically isn't going to do any more episodes. Don Garcia
Eh, I think mimes are better than ventriloquists. But whatev. I'll just reiterate, give Nick Swardson a show! Especially since Reno 911 has been canceled, Comedy Central should find a way to keep Nick around besides the comedy specials.
M. H. Hunter III
Just to go along with what you're saying, I just finished watching Nick Swardson's special for the second time on CC. I must say the guy is still as funny as ever with his humor. "How much are you out?" "$300" "$300, on poker or blackjack?" "No, monkey highfive" classic bit right there, not mention his comical bit with the whole 'hardcore gay porno' bit with playing on Xbox live. Don Garcia
Yeah dude, that was a great special. Monkey High-Five...when I heard that, I just knew it was an instant Swardson classic. Especially with the monkey dance he did, I was crying. And the bit of what if the world was populated by people being what they wanted to be as kids? *Quarterbacks throwing footballs at pirates.* Great stuff.
