This is a horrible act of violence and what is worse is the fact that it was done by a 7 and 10 year old. This is why I hate some kids 7-12 years old. Instead of living a life of fun and playing video games or watching tv to be entertained, they have to do sh*t like this?! Come on!! Now the only life they'll have is one in a juvenile detention. The thing that strikes me about this case are the ages of the two kids 10 and 7. Jesus, when I was 7 my main interests were trains and trucks... Where the hell did these kids get the idea of setting somebody on fire with an aerosol can? And why would they try and do it? The girl would have stood out as a target though due to her medical condition, I'd give "what is the world coming to" speech but lets face it, its been like this for a long time. Violent crime committed by a child should mean a very unpleasant stint in jail for the parent. People like these children and people who regularly commit violent crime should be steralised and banned from adopting. Some people are messed up, some kids make stupid decisions and boys of 10 and 7 probably didn't understand the full force of their actions. This doesn't make them any less guilty, nor does it lessen their crime; but to blame such an act on 'bad parenting' or even 'bad pop-culture examples' is to ignore the fact that a child is a human in it's own right and their parent's aren't and can't be monitoring their actions at all times. But seriously, I don't blame the boys, but rather their abscent and neglecting parents who let them run wild in the streets. I also blame the digustingly brutal street culture which gives them ideas like that and fails to teach them to sympathise with and appreciate the feelings and pain of others - it's disgusting to set fire to an insect, let alone another human being! Just be thankfull that inhumaine and sadistic street culture is not a politically controlled one, and one which is uniform throughout the country. EDIT: Man, I love threads like this where we can all be united on our high-horses, looking down and expressing shock, disgust and condemnation at the actions of a select group of the very worst, who were created by our human society in the first place... As should the parents. Both are responsible, the parents failed to teach their kids basic decency but at the end of the day the kids are the ones who did it. I knew what I was doing at their age and I'm sure most people here did too. Most criminals had poor upbringings but that doesn't excuse them for their actions, these ones just carried out the crime at a younger age. Regardless if they know what they did was wrong or not they are a threat to society and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, for me that includes being stripped, beaten and undertaking a walk of shame.
