Bunz
Tried using G-textures and gimp for compression but always get an error trying to save the files, maybe i use a wrong compression path, can someone tell me which programs are best for these things and how to choose the right compression type? Shadow-Link
Maybe you can tell us more about the error you get?
Bunz
ok lets say i want to replace the fat hairy men in loadingscreens.wtd to something that will look less gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) i replace the texture in G-texture and then save and this is the error from the console: MainWindow::replaceTextures(1784) - Textures replaced: 1 OK, 0 Failed, 0 Skipped WTDFile::writeFile(491) - Compression of file data failed, zlib error: Z Buffer error WTDFile::saveFile(396) - Saved WTD File with 23 textures: c:\program files\rockstar games\grand theft auto iv\pc\textures\loadingscreens.wtd The compression format i used in gimp is BC3 / DXT5. SLAYERMAGGOT
Well, i convert textures with XnView, but i noticed some textures are messed up later. So i used DDS Plugin for GIMP to save then. And when i make a new texture add new DDS Textures, it gives me an error too, but everything works alright ingame
Bunz
^that's the same thing i do, my question is how do you save the texture in gimp...
JostVice
You could be better asking in some kind of GIMP forums or something. I use NVIDIA plugins for photoshop for saving DDS
