[PES 2010] Pro Evolution Soccer 2010! <---

I've been playing alot of PES lately online and with friends. I have 2008 and so when I get 2010 I'll be skipping a whole game so I'm looking foward to the huge amount of change let alone the vast amout of changes they are making from 2009 to 2010.

it "will benefit from the most exhaustive raft of new features in the series' history, with every aspect of the game benefiting from key improvements." The game is coming on PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PSP, PS2 and mobile phones this Australian Spring / American Autumn.

user posted image

Gameplay: "PES 2010 focuses on enhancing the excitement of matches between players, making for a truly challenging experience that will constantly test the player. Intuitive zonal defending will cover spaces and players need to look constantly for new ways to attack. PES 2010 focuses on being a real football simulation, as it requires both strategic play and quick reactions, as in real life. In addition to key out-field elements, goalkeepers are more versatile and with abilities matching those of modern shot-stoppers. The game's referees have also been reworked, with smarter AI elements allowing them to make more balanced calls during matches."

Transfer details look f*ckin great. With € and £ now included rather than just numbers.

Individual Play Characteristics: "In previous PES games, the team formation has determined the movements of the players. PES 2010 introduces a new system wherein the individual attacking and defending nature of the players is integral to the way they play. Each player enjoys unique AI tied into their best abilities, and is reflected in the actions of their team mates – i.e. if a player who is known to be a good crosser of the ball is in possession, more players will flood the penalty area to receive it. Similarly, if a player is known to be good with close control, defenders will work to cover their stronger side, while lone strikers will be automatically supported by midfielders on receipt of the ball."

Enhanced Online: "A new dedicated section of the Tokyo team is committed to improving the online side of PES 2010. More downloadable content is also planned. Konami has supported PES 2009 with the release of new licensed teams, transfer updates, etc, and this support will grow for PES 2010. Team and content updates are planned throughout the game's lifespan. These will make the game even more bespoke to the player's match day needs."

Player expressions looks great here.

Dont know if it's new but " " Cup Online sounds appealing

Lethal Nizzle

I used to be a pure PES-fanboy, buying PES4 and 5 for the PS2. I couldn't touch FIFA. Now I can hardly go back to PES after FIFA09, but this year's title looks like it could really challenge FIFA 10.

Challenge FIFA? I don’t want to sound like a fan boy but FIFA has been trying to keep up with PES for years, only last years (FIFA 09) has come close, PES downfall has been self inflicted with KONAMI apparent unwillingness to start a fresh and instead slightly altering a tired base. They (KONAMI) pulled off a coup by getting the CL license and I’ve always liked the editing features, for me that alone is as good as playing matches.

Holy sh*t, i didn't even saw the online torunaments in PES 2010. wow.gif I hope to see europa league tour too.

Seems that PES 2010 will be f*cking great, much better then last two, i just hope online has minimal to no lag so i can show the PS3 world how good i am.

edit : Hell yeah, this looks so amazing, and the other online screenshots. Seems like online ratings will finally be great, just god please NO LAAAAAG.

I thought that the last three Pro Evo's were absolutely piss poor and FIFA 09 just pissed all over PES 09. Just thought Konami had been lazy c*nts as all that seemed to change was the slight graphical enhancement, the menus and the gameplay speed. The online has been drastic in all three games, loads of games i have been involved in involved lag, now PES 09 improved on that but it was still there.

Enough of the little rant.....PES 10 does actually look better than what i thought it would, i can notice the differences just by looking at a few videos. That player/team tactic editor looks good as well as those cards that get used, master that as well as your players strengths and you're defenetly onto a winner.

Looking forward to the demo and hopefully they allow you to have a tweak with that tactic thingy.

Only thing is they have an annoying tendency to release the demo AFTER the game has been released and not before. I thought I would read about PES before purchase this year but I’m going to take a leap of faith and buy on release.

Yeah... hi, fanboy. FIFA has crushed PES since the switch to next-gen, there's absolutely no question involved. The gameplay has been far superior. I think this year could be a defining one for PES. They look to have realigned their focus and really hammered it out to make it challenge again. Only thing is, it seemed the same last year, and then it was sh*t again. So yeah.

Gameplay? No sorry, FIFA still hasnt got the pace of the game quite right and fair play to PES this they have always had right. Even the fact that FIFA uses motion capture on many (if not all) their players they still have a somewhat cartoony look to them. Anyways this is a PES topic, lets stick to that wink.gif

I'm liking all the features they are adding and how much attention they're putting towards Team Strategy. Hopefully this year's installment will finally play well on the next gen consoles. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Yeah, I read somewhere an article and interview about the new title. The guy from Konami was stressing that he was listening to the fans and studying what they want in a game.

I haven't played Fifa enough to make a decision on my impressions of it.

FIFA 09 can be great and all, I liked it..

But after playing PES 2009 again, I'd stick with PES...

Why? FIFA is a laggy bastard (yeah, I know that my computer isn't one of the best), dificult controls (I mean the right stick thing) and IMO PES gameplay is better, and the faults just sucked (in FIFA). The thing I liked in FIFA was the dribbles (or whatever it's in english...) and the manager mode.

ONTOPIC: Yeah... I'm excited to play PES 2010.

Just to let you know, FIFA on PC used the current-gen engine (say, PS2) as opposed to next-gen (X360/PS3). So you're not really experiencing an actual up-to-date FIFA with the PC version.

There's nothing next gen about the consoles. If anything the PC crushes them into dust.

I have no clue if you've even played these games but FIFA on the PC is notoriously less superior than the console version.

No amount of PC cocksucking will change that fact

I have yet to play PES in any of the current gen consoles, only played it on the PS2. And, in the PS2 at least, the gameplay didn't change drastically, the game still plays roughly the same, which is great. The thing I like about PES is it's somewhat unbelievable randomness, like the keeper suddenly putting the ball in when you expect him to easily save it. Or when your striker tries shoot with his good foot, but shooting with it from behind the other foot. The movement of the players, it feels real because it's not attempting to be uber graphic goodness or incredibly "realistic" captured movement. That's what I don't like about FIFA, they try too much too hard to make the movements exactly like real life, and it just doesn't feel right, unlike PES on the PS2, where the movements are good enough to remember real life really nicely, but aren't over animated.

Tried both PES09 and FIFA09 on the pc, and did not like FIFA. It felt just like FIFA 05, just not right, the running, the walking, the dribbles... And the corner camera, what the heck? PES09 also had that weird movement animation going on, but it was less over the top than FIFA.

But that's my opinion, and I'll surely pick this one up.

Some nice good observations there. That's why I went from Fifa to PES. The gameplay through up some random situations. i'd love to show some of the saved replays I got. I found with Fifa (probably the last one I owned was 05/06) I was doing the same goals, the same runs and basically conforming to a style of play that was not unique but rather the 'only' way I could go and so my games became repetitive. Bear in mind, I can't comment on recent titles.

I'm guessing that the Premier League will only have two licensed teams again and by the looks of it Liverpool is one of them, not to sure who the other team could be, has there been any news on it?

Never put me off. Just change their names, that's the beauty of PES.

Yeah you can't really make judgments on the quality of FIFA based strictly off of playing it off the PC. It's unfortunate but EA is always lazy on the PC version.

Although I have never played PES so I can't say anything about it

I do admit that box art looks fantastic, though.

  • 3 weeks later...

I don't know about which will be better this year - Fifa 10 or PES 10. Fifa seems to be looking more realistic in terms of gameplay judging by gameplay footage recored on a camcorder. PES seems to be using the same engine with not that many new animations.

I haven't played either of course and am keeping an open mind. I heard PES 09 was bad and I really finding more and more people that are either going back to Fifa or just jumping over to that title/Fifa.

We can only wait and see what happens.

Couple of new pictures, two of which reveal Chelsea and West Ham are not licensed. Not that I'm bothered, the editing capabilities in the PS3 version last year were brilliant. Also most gaming shops both online and stores in general have a released date of October 23rd.

And again Konami is slow off the mark, where's this demo?

People might only have enough money for one game and if they've played the FIFA demo first then they could of just decided to pre-order that without even giving the new Pro Evo a chance.
