When I'm racing I feel like crashing the guy in front of me, but when I try he always ends up behind me 3. As I punch the guy in front of me, I see him taking my punches and reacting accordingly, but he still ends up behind me what have you guys seen? When racing, if a major crash occurs (like at the start of every race, losers ) they all want to make a huge pile-up; makes the game laggy. I try to go one on one with someone. If the server wasn't glitchy, he would of been dead, but he's hitting thin air and yet killing me! I once was in Cops & Crooks and I was shooting this crook in the water, I was on a boat. One of his buddies snipe me and the guy in the water messages me saying "YOU SUCK LOL!". I don't. Before you know it they are on their feet and they kill you through your car windows with a SMG. These lags can also be funny though. Last time I got online on GTA IV I was inside the airport terminal (along with my brother on my friend's account) and there was this player laying down on the ground and moving around. That was f*cking funny watching his laying down body gliding down the sidewalk because of some stupid lag. He must of went atleast 50 yards or something like that. iHaveTheIQofaTurnip Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 @ livejoker, i hate that, the best thing to do is let off the gas at the start, but keep pace with the next to last guy, wait for the pile up, and you and the guy in front of you end up 1st and 2nd without completing the 1st lap (if you're lucky) just takes good reactions to get around the pileup, as for the topic when i had roadrunner high speed broadband, i dont think i ever lagged on anyones screen, but i did notice how when i ran over someone else, they wouldn't be rolling around on the ground, they would just pop up, and shoot me, but when i got hit took me like 2-4 seconds to get back up. if i can ask this question here, does anyone use satelite internet? does it lag badly? i have hughesnet now, but haven't tested it for online gameplay, as my ps3 isn't fixed yet Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Girish Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 I don't notice much lag as long as there are only 10-12 players on a server. More the players, more terrible is the lag. Having traffic and peds on in races results in even more drastic lags, not to mention, randomly spawning traffic cars are a big pain in the ass during these high lag times. MR_CERBERUS_KILL Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) lag is always good for a laugh.. im on a wirless connection and wanted 2 stop my parents downloading on my connection so i removed the antenna off the router, and the coolest thing started happining on gta my car and all the cars around me started bounce'n about 50 ft in the air and i finally got a heli and it could fly straight through the ground ....i had lots of fun oh and the helis were dancing on the helipads and evrytime i tryd to enter a car the thing fell through the ground my router is in close proximity to ps3.. so didnt lose the connection. lots a fun makes a change from kill respawn kill... i have noticed evry time sm1 uses the under the map glitch at the airport when they r going under the surrounding area lags like crazy wtf whys that??? Mostly it occurs with air to air fights. Breaking a tail off just to see it reappear only with smoke and fire on it... Lag is fun especially in Deathmatches. Had a few guys leaving but their names and blips didnt dissapear. One time I played a Team-DM, 16 player in it. 5 minutes to play and ZAPP all others were disconnected, standing alone in the harbour. Darrel Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 So many issues that piss me off. 1) Already mentioned you run a guy over only for him to get straight back up and start shooting at you, like you never hit him. 2) The heli tail magically reappearing 3) You cant enter vehicles even though you are standing right by a perfectly intact one. Your character just stands there twitching by the door. 4) People who are in a heli or vehicle, but you cant see the vehicle only their character moving along at a fast speed. but that can be an easy target so not to bad 5) People who have a bad connection or don't connect well to the game and just naturally lag jerking around the game. I always take the comet because, when in perfect shape, it seems to go faster than most cars. It also slides enough but not too much which fits my driving style. What I do, if I want to take a left-turn, I jerk the stick to the right then quickly to the left while tapping the brake. (: A mini-drift/powerslide move. People behind and infront jeking forward, best bet is to try and stay clear from them but it always seems as though they want/need to hit me lol Its always they fookers that tend to spin me out, just cause i ain't expecting it. The standing next to a car one is annoying as hell, especially in tmw, where the aim of the game is to get to the task asap. @livejoker: i don't understand how so many people use the comet, fair enough its a bit faster, but the handling in it sucks.
