Again, Charlie, READ, where have I said GTA4 CAN handle AA? I haven't, you're saying the Xbox 360 can not do AA, when the console can, you should be correctly saying that the Xbox 360 can not do AA with GTA4 in its current state, which is true, DX9 has a bit of a problem working with both D-Lighting and AA. You're just not reading my posts and lumping me together with all the other idiots when sorry buddy but I know what I'm talking about too.

Do me a favour and read my posts next time before you reply to me like I'm a retard. wink.gif

Well how about you read my posts next time, I clearly stated in my first post on here that the Xbox 360 cannot do AA on GTA 4 because it uses Deferred lighting. Now did I say "the xbox 360 cannot do AA at all" ? No I didn't, I said it can't do it because GTA 4 uses deferred lighting. You are the one saying that I am saying the xbox can't do AA. I know damn well the xbox can do AA, I know it has 10mbs of eDram designed specifically so the Xbox can have 2 x FSAA without any hit penalty. I never for ONE minute said the xbox couldn't do traditional AA with game engines that don't use deferred lighting. That is MY WHOLE point you can't use traditional AA methods with games that use deferred lighting. So any "advantage" the Xbox has at doing 2 x FSAA is meaningless since you can't use it in games that do deferred lighting (I am so sick of typing deferred lighting it isn't even funny).

You are the one that seems to be implying Rockstar had some sort of "choice" about whether they had AA in the 360 version. Now that might be true since they chose to use Deferred lighting (must've been a reason for that) but it doesn't change the fact that the 360 cannot do AA with deferred lighting does it. So therefore the answer to "Does the 360 have AA ?" is NO because GTA 4 uses deferred lighting and Dx9 (even the tarted up version in the Xbox 360) cannot do it.

Seriously, both of you. Fanboyism or not, you're both looking like morons for making a scene over internet. LOL!

Wow. Verbal warning? You're a mod so you can what you like. That shows how smart you really are. I'm actually wanting this little "fight" between you and Ash to stop. Funny picture? It wasn't meant to be.

If it was a verbal warning, why didn't the filter detected the word "moron"? Moron isn't a swear word. I can say what I want, to a certain extent in which I don't think I passed that line, seeing this is a DISCUSSION board. Thanks for understanding, Charlie. icon13.gif

Livejoker I warned you because your post was nothing but spam, If you don't like the discussion then fair enough stay out of it, but don't tell others that are discussing it to "shut up" and then post a spam image like that. Now unless you have something to say on topic may I suggest you shut up.

You know I still love you, big guy. cookie.gif

On topic? Well, I just want to say i'm sorry. As for your debate, i'd go with Ash. He seems to know more on consoles than you do...but...you know I still love you, bug guy. cookie.gif

**EDIT** As for the AA, does it really matter if the 360 uses it or not? It still looks great. Honestly, AA or not, I can't seem to see a different. notify.gif

Hey CharmingCharlie, I know you know that stuff, I just wanted to pull you about it since I was agreeing with you and you still talked down to me like an idiot which I thought was a bit unfair, so whatever man if you think it's right to talk down to people agreeing with you then go ahead, not like I can stop you. smile.gif

you know that you can't have right. you don't work at rockstar + consoles can handle AA but they choose away it sometimes.

EDIT: gta iv can handle up to 2x/4x aa

Hey, just to post in this thread, the 360 version doesn't have AA, the Xbox 360 CAn handle AA but Rockstar chose to leave it out. Here's a quote from Richard Leadbetter who analysed the game on both the PS3 and 360 and during the graphic face off here is what he had to say.

So it was Rockstars choice to leave AA out of the 360 version and instead introduce the blur filter.

No I don't work for Rockstar but I have been involved with computers for 20 years and I have an ability to read and digest information. I know for a fact Rockstar didn't "choose" to leave AA out. They did it because the 360 cannot do AA with deferred lighting/rendering. If GTA 4 could "handle" 2xAA/4xAA don't you think we would have it on the PC ? We don't have it on the PC because GTA 4 is a Dx9 game and Dx9 cannot do Deferred lighting with AA.

Now guess what your Xbox 360 uses ? that's right it uses a slightly modified version of Dx9 wow.gif shock horror since the Xbox 360 uses Dx9 it means it is IMPOSSIBLE for it to use Deferred rendering/lighting and AA. Seriously educate yourself and look it up sarcasm.gif

I really don't know how much simpler I can make this. The Xbox 360 uses Dx9, it is impossible to use AA with Deferred Rendering in Dx9 thus it is impossible for the Xbox 360 to have 2xAA.

well now when i understod it better, i know that you're right now wink.gif
