"Roman, what are you doing here man?" asks Niko, as he rubs his bumped head. "I came to warn you that there was a hit out on you - a drunk in our poker game blabbed! I tried to ring you but your phone was switched off." Roman looks his usual scared self. "I - I was hoping to be in the middle of a lap dance" said Niko "But I got more of an eyeful than I bargained for!" Just then, the barrel of a gun appears over the wall between them... 1. It is Dwayne, also there to warn Niko. 2. One of Pegorino's old henchman has caught up with Niko. 3. It is Lazlow, trying to get an interview by waving a replica gun. They exchange money and walk off together. Niko is curious - Bernie? With a ho? He catches up with them. "Florian, what are you doing with a woman of easy virtue?". "Oh, Niks, it's you - I er, um, well, I wanted to see what it was like" says a red-faced Bernie. "See what what is like?" asks Niko. "Oh, she cuts hair a treat, and I usually have a male stylist." replies Bernie. "Oh sorry, my friend, I'll leave you in peace" says Niko, walking away embarrassed. Bernie and the ho carry on to Bernie's house. "He believes anything I tell him, bless." says Bernie with a grin. His grin soon fades when he finds Darko's brother waiting in the hall of his apartment building. 1. Darko's brother takes Bernie captive. 2. Luckily Niko had followed Bernie and the ho. 3. To find out Bernie is teamed up with darko this whole time, and Darko's brother is teaming with Bernie to kill him. After Niko was done over hearing the conversation, he slams through the door with a shotgun! "You prick! I could never trust you!" He fires at bernie, hitting Darko's brother, and bernie jumps out the window, and lands in a trash can. "See you later sweetie" And he takes off in his moped. He rings Dwayne for help, only to get a message saying Dwayne is visiting relatives in Los Santos. Doing a handbrake turn, he goes back into the city bars area to find Packie. He sees Packie propping up a bus in Star Junction, not quite pissed out of his tree. Dragging Packie on board and quickly explaining the situation, they set off to track down the seemingly treacherous Bernie. 1. Suddenly they spot Bernie going into Gay Tony's club. 2. Out of the corner of his eye, Niko spots Bernie talking to Michelle in an alleyway. 3. Packie starts singing Copacabana, with Niko joining in with the chorus. Packie detonates it. Unfortunately, the detonator he used was for another bomb being stored in the trunk of his own car. He fumbles for the correct detonator. Suddenly, Bernie shoots Niko's tire out. Niko veers left. He hits a Bobcat, spins 90 degrees, and before he can tell what's happening, his van smashes through the doors of a Burger Shot. He and Packie get out, but the van is wedged in their only escape route. The Bobcat's owner and Bernie are now screaming through the Burger Shot window. Niko... 1. Pulls out his D'Eagle and pops the Bobcat's owner in the face. 2. Pulls out a shotgun and prepares for a battle. 3. Jumps over the counter and hides. 4. Police officers start to spill into the back door of the Burger Shot and aim their pistols at Niko and Packie, provoking Packie to withdraw his own weapon and aim it at a customer yelling "No one moves or this guy gets his brains blown out!". It's a tense stand off, when all of a sudden... 1. A cop fires at Packie, wounding him and a shoot out begins 2. Niko fires at Bernie and then begins shooting at the cops 3. Whilst Niko and Packie are being processed at the cop shop, Francis appears and bribes the arresting officer to let the boys go. Under his breath, Niko thanks his lucky stars that he never did any harm to Francis. Then Francis takes Niko to one side and tells him that Bernie is working for the U.L.P.C., but under duress, with the threat of arrest for being an undesirable alien. Niko realises that his old friend is not really his enemy. He and Packie go back out on the street and jack the nearest decent car, which happens to be a Sentinel parked in Little Italy. Bad idea. A pack of angry Mafia guys spill out of the nearby pizza parlour waving their D'eagles and threatening the boys with a kneecapping. Niko and Packie speed off, with the Mafia hoods hot on their trail in a Cognescenti. 1. They speed off down towards Pier 69 to find a speedboat as a getaway. 2. They speed off towards Helitours to steal a Maverick as a getaway. 3. They speed off towards Purgatory to get some of Packie's friends to help them. Bernie gives a little yelp and faints - sliding gracefully off the roof, onto a pile of boxes. Niko and Packie pick up the little perisher and take him back to Carmen's for a bit of TLC, as she will do anything for Niko - and I mean, anything. Niko decides to go to the U.L.P.C. offices to find out what's going on. As he pulls up outside the door of the building... 1. Michelle and some heavies jump out of a black windowed car, guns loaded. 2. Little Jacob is waiting and frantically waves at Niko to join him in a nearby alley. 3. Then: 1 - A loud explosion rocks the truck which falls on its side. The doors open to reveal Johnny K standing there with an AK-47 2 - Niko knocks out a guard and steals his gun, shooting the doors open and the two bail. 3 - The tuck stops in an alleyway and the policeman driving opens the doors, only for it to turn out to be Packie in disguise... Then: - Niko, Johnny K and Jacob bails out with Terry's Romero. - The trio escapes the area on bikes with Clay. - Johnny gets tazered by Francis McReary and other cops. They had only gone a few hundred yards along the Drive when Niko suddenly hears a familiar voice shrieking after him: "It's that f*cking guy again!", it's Grace Ancelotti sitting in a Sentinel with some of her brothers. Her brothers draw weapons and the car starts coming fast after Niko and Jacob. Niko manages to get a shot off which whistles past Gracie's head. "You bastard, my daddy's gonna get you!" she yells in fury. Niko and Jacob ride for their lives. 1. In an effort to catch the boys, the Sentinel grazes a cop car... 2. Just as the Sentinel seems to have caught up with them, Jacob throws a grenade underneath it..... 3. But Niko's friend Hossan is walking nearby, and can see his friend in danger.
