Spuds725
PC right.... you should have an MP3 folder in your game-- you can place MP3 files there directly or shortcuts to MP3 files... radioman
To add to what Spuds said, the folder used for the MP3 Radiostation is located in the Install Directory for VC and III, unlike in the User Files Folder for SA. By default, it is C:/program files/rockstar games/GTA Vice City/MP3. You might want to add on the MP3 tool to allow you to skip tracks, otherwise it WILL repeat the same songs over and over again, as I found out with GTA III, except this tool only works with the Retail(CD) version of the game, as it will cause the game to crash on the Steam version.-I had that happen on GTA III. I believe, that the III and VC MP3 radio only works with .mp3 or .wav files OR shortcuts.-please correct me if i'm wrong there. I also believe you have to have the proper codecs for the files you are using-ie. WMP 9 or later, I-Tunes 6 or later, Win Amp, Rhapsody, Real Player, etc. installed on your computer for the song files to work.-I got that from the SA manual, so please correct me if i'm wrong about VC. usernotfound
WAV files never work on User Tracks, not even in SA. MP3 only.
radioman
WAV files never work on User Tracks, not even in SA. MP3 only. Are you sure about that? I have used .wav files in SA, and they work fine. Do you have I-Tunes 6 or later? If yes, then they (.wav's) will work. It even says in the VC Tourist Guide that comes with the game, that it plays .wav files. From the readme says "Play your own music: Valid mp3 or wav files(or shortcuts to valid mp3 or wav files) placed into the /grand theft auto vice city/mp3/ directory will be treated by grand theft auto vice city as an "mp3" radiostation. These shortcuts can be local shortcuts, or shortcuts to a file on a lan."-word for word from the VC manual. This is the manual that came with the Trilogy Version for PC. Hope this helps clear up some confusion over formats to use. To add, as I said in my last post, you have to have the proper codecs in order for the MP3 radio to work with other formats.
