chris Posted August 20, 2009 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Good news guys. The rash has cleared up and I'm now on steroid tablets for the next few days. Turns out there was peanuts in the sauce. My Epi-pen took out most of the blow, and I recovered later in the hospital. I'm feeling all good now. Well since we know your okay can this topic now be about chinese food? Glad you're well anyway mate, rest well and all that jazz. Just as a side-note, it may be worth enquiring every time now. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence by suggesting you don't already do it, but usually takeaways and restaurants have nutrition information on hand, or least a list of what they put in their foods. Every time you order, it's best to ask. A friend of mine has a nut allergy and he has to ask every time we go out what has nuts in or is made using any kind of nut oils. Oh no, the nuts were in the korma, it seems. And yes I do ask when I'm out with friends what has nuts in or not. They usually laugh at this but tell me nonetheless. And my mum knows I'm allergic to peanuts. She had to pick me up from playgroup when I touched peanut butter and rubbed it on my face. My face ballooned. I met a girl once who had a peanut allergy so severe she could barely be in the same vicinity as peanuts. I just read that article and it seems legit, but I really only have a slightly less severe reaction; I know somebody who can't even eat chocolate which contains "traces of nuts", when I can, so I'm guess I'm in a slightly better situation. Reading the First post I thought you might have a new form of Chiken Pox. Hah, I had chicken pox when I was a baby, so there's no chance I could get it again.
