Oh for the dear love of god, yes I probably did say that, I humbly apologise for my need to play games with BETTER graphics than the console. Hm let's see why I would say that. I play GTA 4 on 1680 x 1050, High/Highest settings, traffic density 100, view distance 70 Detail Distance 100. Guess what this still isn't good enough for me I want to play it at 2560 x 1600 totally maxxed out running at 60+ fps and I am in the process of getting the gear together so I can do that.

 

The console runs the game at 1280 x 720, low/med, traffic Density 33, View Distance 20, Detail Distance JUST 10. So if I go from playing the game on my PC to playing the game on the 360 guess what I am doing ? Oh yeah I am lowering myself to play on LOWER settings. I have standards the 360 does not meet those standards, so to play the game on the 360 I would have to LOWER my standards. That isn't fanboyism that is MY standards hell I am equally scathing about the PS3 if you want me to be honest.

 

However I respect the right of all GTA fans to play the game and content on THEIR chosen platform. I don't go up to them and say "buy a PC or you aren't a GTA fan". I find it curious how everyone seems to be fixated on me here, I have tried several times to explain why I will not game on the xbox (or the PS3) whenever I try I get greeted with "oh you are a fanboy" yes I am a PC fanboy because the PC offers me what I want, the consoles do not.

So give me a side-by-side comparison of GTA IV on both systems and a side-by-side comparison of console price vs cost to buy/build a PC. and i will judge if its worth it.

There is no proof either way, you know that Darkseid now stop trying to stir up sh*t. If there was proof that the DLC was exclusive to the xbox for all eternity this topic would have been closed and if there was proof that it is coming to the PC/PS3 then there would be no need for this topic.

I on the other hand, know it's exclusive to PS3 users and can deal with that. So why can't PS3 users deal with us having GTA DLC exclusive only to us.

If and when Rockstar releases information that in FACT the PS3 & PC will get the GTA DLC's, then fine, but until then it is all FALSE information. Because NO ONE outside of Microsoft & Rockstar know how long this exclusive deal will last. Wether it's for all eternity or just 1 year. NO ONE knows. Not anyone in this forum and not anyone else in the media including Sony.

You would be doing us all a favour if you did sod off to a playstation forum. However here is the thing, guess what this forum is called, is it :-

Guess what it's D it is GTAforums for people that play GTA and discuss GTA related issues. The DLC possibly coming to the PS3/PC is a GTA related issue and PC/PS3 owners should be allowed to discuss that possibility. The fact you find it so offensive that the PS3/PC owners have this ONE topic makes me wonder why you even bother coming in here. You have no interest in this topic then stay out of it.

 

Yes it is a fact that the Episodes are exclusive to the Xbox 360 at this moment. I don't see anyone arguing that they aren't. However Rockstar and Microsoft are suitably "vague" about the DLC appearing on other platforms. Just like Rockstar were suitably vague about there being a GTA 4 on the PC.

 

There have been plenty of examples where "Only on the Xbox" has been a complete load of bull. You just need to think of Lost Planet and Bioshock. There is reasonable doubt that this deal is "for all eternity" and therefore PC/PS3 owners can have a thread where they dicuss it. After all this is a MULTIPLATFORM board and not xbox users personal domain.

 

So now if you have no interest in discussing this issue leave the topic alone, surely you have the ability to do that don't you ?

Just as an observation, but I dont see many people calling BS on the Agent exclusivity. Because that is as plainly advertised as the 360 exclusivity.

As for the DLC, its more likely that it will be on PC, I doubt it will be on Ps3. I get pissed of when people call Halo and Gears of war Xbox exclusives, They are MICROSOFT exclusives.

Halo 1, Halo 2, Gears of war, Left 4 dead are not Xbox exlusives, they are Microsoft exclusive.

Well this topic is about the DLC and not Agent, however I think you can safely say Agent is as exclusive to the PS3 as the DLC is to the 360. So PS3 users want to remember that when/if the DLC for GTA 4 comes to the PS3.

No. They said it was a "Yet to be Announced" title. Now how can it be the DLC if it's yet to be announced? Well think of it this way. Yet to be announced doesn't always me it's a title/game that no one knows about. It can also mean it's a game/title yet to be announced for that platform.

I read something awhile ago. But I can't find it. Google news isn't linking me to the website when I search for agent. Anyway it stated that Agent may be a PS3 exclusive but there is still a small, small, very small chance it may go to the 360. I think it was Ben Feder(TTWO CEO or something) who said that.

I am not saying I disagree with you here, but I am curious about the thought process you are using. Your first paragrah clearly shows that you don't believe the DLC will come to the PS3 (which is fair enough). Yet you go on to say that Agent could come to the 360 if sales on the PS3 are not great !

 

Now I think it is safe to assume that Sony had to pony up a bit of cash for Agent exclusivity (after all Rockstar are not likely to give that away for free). So why is is possible that something Sony paid for will appear on the xbox 360 if sales aren't good enough ? Yet something Microsoft apparently "paid" for is never going to go onto the PS3 if sales aren't good enough ?

 

Now sales figures for the 1st DLC on the xbox are very sketchy and range from 1 million to 2 million copies. Let's be generous and say it's 2 million, that is less than 33% of those that bought GTA 4 (xbox version) bought TLaD. Now I am not saying that is "disastrous" but only 2 million sales of a sub $20 addon especially for GTA 4 can't be considered "fantastic".

 

The fact they are bundling both episodes on disc gives us a hint that they are not altogether too happy with the reponse to the 1st DLC when it was made download only. So going by the logic you applied to Agent it is entirely feasible that we can see the DLC on the PS3 to help boost sales then.

 

I personally believe you will see Agent on the 360, 1 year after it is released on the PS3 (possibly with a PC version too it depends on whether Rockstar can be arsed). It is the same situation with the DLC like I have said we haven't got long to wait till we find out.

ioN, Rockstar say a lot of things that are complete bullsh*t. I am not going to get into a debate about which is the most powerful console both have their advantages and disadvantages. A company saying "this game cannot be done on console A" is spouting a load of bollocks. It is entirely feasible that any xbox game can be done on the PS3 and any PS3 game can be done on the 360. It doesn't mean they will both look the same of course but the game will essentially be the same.

 

I suppose them saying "it is game which is only possible on the PS3" means my PC couldn't possibly do it either then ? It is just "propoganda" they want to "big it up". You will see Agent on the 360 roughly a year after the PS3 version. It may not be exactly the same as the PS3 version, but you will see it.
