Tell me what you think:

 

When TLAD was released, the only music radio stations that were updated were LCHC, Beat, LRR and Broker.

 

When BOGT will be released, only the remaining radios will be updated, or the previous ones will also have extra musics?

Will it include the same musics of TLAD besides the new ones?

Or if it won't, will the "Episodes Pack" have the possibility of hearing the full soundtrack (GTA4 basics, TLAD and BOGT) on both games?

When TBOGT is released, you will hear all of the radio stations, includeing the updated ones. There is no reason why they wouldn't put TLAD radio updates on the 2nd DLC.

There is a reason why they might not distribute the TLAD music in TBOGT: music licensing.

 

My speculation summarized from other threads:

• If you buy IV and both episodes as DLC you have the music from all three stories playing in all three stories. ()
• If you buy IV and only TBOGT () you have the music from IV and TBOGT playing in both stories, but not the music from TLAD ().
• If you buy Episodes from Liberty City on disc () you don't get any music added to IV () because you can only play one disc at a time.

Worst case scenario: What if Rockstar's music deals don't allow them to re-use all the music from IV on the Episodes disc? The music companies can demand more money because Episodes is a stand-alone disc. IV's huge soundtrack would be very expensive for a disc that cannot sell anywhere what IV did. We can hope Rockstar's original music deals for IV included doing the second disc because that's the only way all that music can be on there.

i think shinsta, you are totally wrong, there are many reasons they wouldn't put the music of tlad in tbgt, mostly though i think it comes down to the setting, i really don't think the story would need anymore lchc than was in gta4, the reason it was put into tlad was for ambiance, where as it would be contrary to the setting of tbgt

I just think it's fair to get the two radio updates on IV, TLAD, and TBOGT. I mean, I get that it wouldn't fit a certain theme to a story, but all three stories practically take place at the same time.

 

TLAD had Liberty Rock Radio, The Beat 102.7, Radio Broker, and LCHC updated, as well as The Martin Serious Show on WKTT.

 

Yet we hear the update on IV as well, so why not?

 

BTW not to throw this off-topic, but we'll likely hear updates on San Juan Sounds, ElectroChoc, The Vibe, K109, and possibly another talk segment on either WKTT or PLR.

I get the copyright reasons and music licensing, but until October comes, we don't really know what R* will do. I really want both updates on all three games, though.

 

Anyway my TLAD radio update is still on IV, so it doesn't matter for me.

We won't hear the music that was added in TLAD whilst we are playing TBoGT.

 

Edit: But if you bought both TBoGT and TLAD you should be able to hear the added music from both of those while playing GTA IV.

It would be so cool if you had the Episodes and GTA IV Rockstar made a downloadable update for GTA IV so that all the New Music, Weapons, Cars and updated buildings (the tlad version of the lost clubhouse etc) were present in the original game. What dya think??

If it's just ZiT not working then why doesn't TLAD TV and Internet content appear in IV either? TV and Internet have been locked out of IV so they only appear in TLAD. Again, in a slight way I think it's a glitch that the soundtrack leaked into IV.

It was more likely intended to be there than it would be a glitch. Because everybody that has the DLC has the radio update. And TBOGT is likely going to have their radio update on IV as well.

It's difficult to know what exactly is going on there. Maybe it's a glitch that doesn't allow the other content to be shared with the main game. Maybe it's intentional to have only the music to be shared, but ZiT wasn't updated to recognize them.

I think it's weird anybody would want TLAD's music to not carry over to TBOGT if both DLCs are installed. And only Niko should hear everything? I don't get the logic.

 

I'd bet my bottom dollar that all three characters hear all the radio. TBOGT should update different stations than TLAD. After TLAD some stations have 30 or 40 songs but un-updated ones only have 10. The radio represents the whole city and all the characters and different characters have their favorite stations. Just because Luis can listen to Johnny's death metal sh*t doesn't mean he will.

 

EDIT: What happened with ZiT is Rockstar's deal with Amazon U.S. was not renewed. Rockstar put the TLAD soundtrack on iTunes, and while the original IV soundtrack was not exactly yanked from Amazon, it isn't being maintained either. Thirty or so songs including most of Massive B and half The Beat are no longer available on Amazon. The real-world function of ZiT was to get you to buy the songs from Rockstar's music partners, but if the contracts are up then ZiT gradually becomes fictional and non-functional.

Gladly spoken. Liberty City (like any other major city) has a population of many different cultures. It's only fair that all the updates get to be at least on IV.
