Evading the cops at 3+ stars

I've made three or four runs at The Snow Storm. I can get the stuff easily, but when I get out and gain that automatic 3-star rating, I'm screwed. I can't outrun the police on foot or in a car because they keep spawning right on top of me. I can't use Pay n' Spray because "The cops saw you enter." No kidding, the cops saw me enter, they're everywhere! I can't get on a train to get away because the trains don't stop at the stations when I'm wanted. How am I supposed to lose my wanted level?

how can't you get away? It's easy as hell to get away from the piggies, take a bunch of turns, then get on a road you can speed up real fast, weave between traffic, and ALWAYS watch your radar. if you see a cop coming take a quick turn and evade him.. also watch the stars. when they glow white the cops can see you, when they are grey you can slip away into alleys and such cause they cant see you. once you get outside of the circle find a hiding spot and STAY THERE. you'll be surprised at how stupid the cops are sometimes.. you can be sitting in a trashed car in a park and they won't see you. although the helicopter is harder to get away from, you have to think like real life.. its not just out running them, its about evading them and finding hiding spots and sneaking past them.

I managed to escape the red/blue circle a few times with even more stars, just drive really fast and evade cops so the circle will stay at it's position, use subways and open water and such. When you are out of the circle the best thing to do is hide behind a wall or something like that so cops won't spot you.

Instead of running towards the cars, run towards the water. There's a boat at that dock. It's simple to get away then.

Yes, head right after you are out of the building. Go through the hole in the chain link fence and jump over the edge. A jetmax is docked there. Speed out of the wanted zone and head towards the delivery point.

okay this snow storm thingy really is very hard to escape with, once you get cornered inside a building it's very hard to GET OUT or ESCAPE on foot since that SWAT team (kind of) is everywhere and the choppa is just above you, so this is the thing...

 

Tips:

-remember before you head to the building you have to park your vehicle near the old hospital to trigger the event, once trigger sniper the guys outside to evade the cost of being damaged and time.

-next kill the guys inside in nice covered area, make sure that you kill them quickly or the cops (1 ~ 2 stars) will hear gunshots and will come over to the place to check it out, (adds more crappy problem if you ask me)

>>if this one happens make sure you get the cokes before they even get more (not the cops after you get the coke) since that they will block your way to get outside easier. so... killing them makes them more if ever this happens, just blow up some guys using ung grenade to make an escape route OUTSIDE<<

-once you got it, the cops will be spawning in the area and you'll be cornered up, make sure when you find cover, you'll be able to monitor your environment to look for cops, in windows, upper levels and choppas

-there really is no choice but to shoot your way out and make them more, but either way have them arrest you and restart the game, so before you get out of where you came in, look in your radar and remember WHERE are the COPS are positioned, any other incoming cops infront of you or tries to shoot you down, JUST KILL THEM in a fast way (HEADSHOT IS) it is very recommended to use EITHER DEAGLE or the M4A1 (Carbine or M16?) it gives more damage at the head and armor although they are too slow

-take note that once you've cleared your escape route, the way outside is not good and there are TONS of cops waiting, make sure you have enough health and ARMOR before charging outside, (FIGHTING them would be useless as they have backups)

-THERE should be a pickup truck outside of the building NEAR the entrance, (supposed to be, mine has) so the trick is with enough HP and body armor (or just HP and make sure you don't get shot too much) use the pickup truck and ride the hell out of there

-if you're getting problems of incoming cops TAKE TURNS, ALOT, evading the Choppers are very easy, just find a straight way and drive as further as you can, evading choppers are better than evading cars, since the choppers can see you when you run and are faster than CARS

-if your ride gets busted find another one, make sure you DON'T leave the car until you find another backup one on the streets, it doesn't matter if the car is about to explode but the trick is just use it to find a backup transport, if you don't have any luck with cars, find a nearby alley, jump off the vehicle and Sprint inside the alleys, if you find appartments that are accessable, enter there, (don't go at the other side if there are cops in there) at this point you should have your stars grayed out.

-look at your MAP at the Main Menu to check how large the Search Area is, if your in the middle of the area, hurry and find a vehicle and move away from it without getting found, if your near it by walking distance, RUN it, if not take a vehicle

 

my brother made me escape a full star wanted level, so far i stole a stockade, drove it far away and switched to a car nearby, when i did i took turns and headed FAR away from the search area, then i realized the levels are gone

Evading 1-3 stars is usually pretty easy.

4 stars is hard.

5 stars is very hard.

6 stars is nearly impossible. I've only escaped from 6 star only once, and that was in a car, not some cowardly subway running.

How do you get a car into the subway? the entrance is too narrow, even on the double width ones you can't cos of the hand-rails.

I accidentally outrun six star wanted levels all of the time. I'll just be driving, playing with the police, and notice "oh, the police are gone, better go shoot some more sh*t so they'll notice me again".

 

It's piss easy to do, all you have to do is drive. Find a highway loop or any other easily navigated long road and have some fun.

 

Seriously, if you can't outrun a six star without trying, you suck.

HA,3 stars is simple.

crap.. its only impossible when your running away from 3 choppers at once, plus Stockades and nooses filling your escape route, but with cars and a little killing (or not) you can escape them

When you master pac man, you will master the 3 star wanted level (and beyond). Practice this game with strategy in mind and understand each of your opponents. It is only necessary to play the first level of pac man and evade. Then, take what you have learned about the artificial intelligence in that game, each of how ever many are chasing you - and you need to play the real pac man games, preferably the literal first pac man or ms pac man. You could find a good clone that was made by someone who knows how each of those ghosts approach navigating the level, but the first ones are sure.

 

After you get the idea about chase, flank, corner, avoid, and randomness - far be it for me to say those terms are technical - you can then add the assumption of line of sight (which is really good in GTA IV, at times perhaps too good, in good ways for the AI and ways that hurt the AI).

 

One thing I learned fast is that alleys are your friend. They are pretty well detailed too, the back end of the known to be beautiful facade of this city. With that, take it like this: If you are running, and a cop is ahead, it is going to where you are probably about to be - it is time to change your course. Place some pac man, use your radar.

Just grab the nearest NRG900 and head for the subway, bike fit piece of cake plus there is tons of places to hide

try going to one of ya hideout (thats what there their for) 6 stars are easy to get away from.

I shot down a police chopper on happiness and some how it landed without blowing up, so i stole it and flew away.

landed on top of one of the hide out saved the game and they were gone.

If you shoot through windows at police officers before they're close enough to see you, you can continue on your preferred course without changing direction and still outrun the wanted radius. As long as you're playing with the keyboard and mouse instead of a controller, you should be able to cap an officer's face through his windshield before he even knows you exist.

 

I'm not trying to sound cool or anything, I'm being entirely sincere. This game is just piss easy and outrunning the police seems easier to do than actually keeping a spirited chase going. Anyone having any problems with it simply needs more practice, or needs to stop driving like an old lady.
