VASSILY Posted August 21, 2009 Share Posted August 21, 2009 GTA IV deserve our respect , but there are many things gone wrong like this Friend system, I went crazy when Brucie or Dwayne calls me for drinking or playing Bowling ! R* must admit that GTA IV have a missing part , the gameplay , It was excited but , for me , my excitement bar (!!) didn't accept the game as a "Grand Theft Auto"! But , you can see me enjoy playing San andreas ( still playing it , and last night , I went to the badlands) or Saints Row 2 or COD 5 (even I didn't understand it because Ive brang the spanish case!!) theGANNER Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 I bought a PS2 to play GTA3 (man, I am old...). I played it for about a year and a half. Because it was great and because there were no other good games out. I later was travelling the Seychelles Islands and phoned a friend to get me GTA4 and a PS3, not because it was hyped but it was GTA. Never went to gaming sites to check screens or videos. I just had a few Rockstar games but all were very fun to play (esp. Bully). The GTA3 experience never can be replaced, VC was the bomb (growing up in the 80s) and SA had so much room and fun stuff to do. But not comparable... And now there is GTA4. I started it in june 08 and played till the Truck Hustle mission. Then I started Multiplayer and was instantly absorbed. In the meantime they brought the trophies and I gave it a try. So I started the storymode again in june 09 and it felt much better, I was much more interested in the story. Liked the aspect of beeing part of something (friends, Roman etc.). So GTA4 was my first online game and I will allways see it like this. Waiting for the GTAs still to come. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's the best game ive ever played(Not counting MAG cause i only played the beta) I just hope Agent will have the same amount of Hype as GTA IV. It's a good game, but come on, it isn't eveything and for sure it isn't the best game ever! The story is okay, graphics and the details of the game (like peds, the city, cars and everything) are awesome, the multiplayer can be fun but it is awful (at least on PS3 it has lots of errors)... I think it is a good game, but I also think it is overrated. I don't know why, but I expected a lot more of this game... =/ (No, i'm not a GTA San Andreas fanboy. I'm a casual gamer, so i don't read into gaming magazines where i could only imagine the geek spanking material being printed at that stage. But honestly, GTA IV is one of the best games i have ever been addicted too. Cannot begin to imagine what Rockstar have in mind for a couple of years time! I don't GTA IV is the best game ever, but compared to alot of the games that were available around the time GTA IV came out it sure as hell was IMO. Even some games I've purhased that were released after GTA IV haven't interested me as much as GTA IV. GTA IV IMHO easily ranks in the top 10 best video games ever made. EzaH Posted August 25, 2009 Share Posted August 25, 2009 One main reason GTA IV was given a 10 by so many sites and whatnot is because during the beginning of 08 all the new games looked and were good, almost close to crap. They weren't worked on so well for the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. GTA IV on the other hand had like, what? Four years of work and it still didn't come out how Rockstar wanted it to. GTA IV was hyped up by fans because they felt Rockstars effort. And of course because of the awesome graphics, the euphoria and the amazing storyline and now the DLC eps. Orochi Posted August 28, 2009 Share Posted August 28, 2009 Being a PC player, I had a terrifying experience just installing the game initially. Couldnt get the game working till like the second patch (which meant missing out on a few months of action after the release date). That alone warrants a horrible experience. After that, I had to struggle with performance issues (I was running crysis on medium-high and no, I dont believe in spending a couple hundred updating my system just for ONE game). After that, I found the graphics slightly above average (no issue with it, although for the kind of performance requirement i expected something better), story was kinda bleh (preferred vice city's by far) and it just felt very dull (can't pinpoint at what, perhaps the omission of tanks, planes and whatever made GTA GTA?). Overall, I think this has been the most disappointing GTA in the series so far. A game is not just about the graphics and some physics system (which I must admit I enjoyed), if a game cannot even get the most basic things done properly (like actually successfully running AND getting playable performance), I dont think I can rate it favorably. I definitely do not think that it deserves 10/10 as many reviewers have given. No doubt that is for the console versions but I seriously think that the storyline is very average (Which I believe is a critical element in games). But just wait till you see the PC version. The Quench Posted August 31, 2009 Share Posted August 31, 2009 When the first trailer came out, i was very excited. sh*t, I even signed up for these forums because this was my second home to finding out all the trailer analysis, rumors & crazy threads. Ive been playing GTA's since III, and this one, I personally thought IV was not overhyped by the fans or the media, but sort-of by Rockstar. I mean they claimed that IV was gonna have all these features (peds knowing you/climbing objects/little realistic 'moments') & when time came around for them to put 'em in, R* was kind of 'stuck'. You get what Im sayin? Sure that these little 'things' didnt ruin the game for me or anything, but the pre-realese trailers/hype made it seem like a different 'game'. Were they quoted to say that GTA IV has all that stuff? The media could've exaggerated some stuff but Rockstar rarely confirms if what they said are true. BEST.GAME.EVER Only one thing to say... Yes! GTA IV was the first game I had got hyped for in AGES.
