Beta of DYOM V5

Our goal with this beta, is to let users have a preview of things to come, and to get some feedback on the new features. This beta version is limited, in that you won't be able to save or load missions. Keep in mind that this is still work in progress, although we have tested it al, some things might still not work complete as expected. The official V5 version will have more functions, which we still have to implement. In addition to several bugs that have been fixed, this version has a lot of new stuff.

 

 

Changes in this beta

 

Most of the new functionality of this version can be divided into two groups.

 

1) The concept of "special Objective" is introduced. This are objectives, that don't need a goal to be achieved by the player, but are used to change the state/flow of the mission. Two of these were already available, cutscene and teleport, but now they are placed in a seperate menu, and many more are added:

  • Teleport to car - similar to teleport, but you will be able to place a car, where to player will be teleported into, when this objective is executed.
  • Timeout - this objectove introduces a configurable pause. Can be used for various things, but most obviously for "survive for 2 minutes" kid of gameplay.
  • Countdown - Displays a countdown on screen, while the player is unable to move. Can for example be used to start a race.
  • Weather - Changes the weather when this objective is executed.
  • Wanted level - Changes the current, minimum and maximum wanted level when this objective is executed
  • Settime - Changes the time of day when this objective is executed.
  • Ped behaviour - Changes the occurance and behaviour of peds, (riot/normal/nocars/nopeds)

2) New and advanced "animations" are added for actors.

  • For walk and run animation, you are now able to defined multi point routes which can be walked once or used as a loop.
  • New animations: enter car, sit in car and leave car. This will make the actor "interact" with the closest car during the mission. For each animation, you can select wether it is as a passenger or as a driver.
  • For actors with a "driverseat-animation", you can choose different behaviour, such as attack player, follow player and drive allong a route. The route can optionally be looped.
  • Actors with "passengerseat-animation" with a compatible weapon will perform drive-by's based on their gang-setting.
  • Routes for driving and walking can consist of upto 64 points each. In total you can used 200 route points for a mission.

 

Known Limitations/bugs

 

The following bugs/limitations are known, so you don't have to report these:

  • No Save/Load functionality available
  • Drive animations don't yet work for heli's, planes and vortex.
  • During adding of waypoints for drive routes, you will be placed on a quadbike, this will make adding points for boats a bit trouble some. A better solution will be available in the release version.
  • Several minor issues.

Feedback

 

Please keep discussion of the beta-version limited to the two designated topics:

  1. This topic can be used for generic feedback, screenshots and ideas for changes.
  2. The Beta 5 bugs topic, can be used to report bugs in this beta version.

Again, keep in mind that this isn't a "real" release. These kind of things are so difficult that we want to have it really good tested before we release it completely. That's why we need your help. We really appreciate it if you help us, by testing it, give us feedback about it (what do you like, what don't you like, what do you want that we improve) and report the bugs in the other thread. Thanks in advance!

We don't know yet, conversion to scm won't be in V5. If, how and when it will be available, is something we still need to decide.

First of all car feature is awesome

But its difficult to learn

 

Route point is kinda hard ot learn so after you guys release Dyom 5 full version Please amke a tutorial of car feature please and car drive by too..

 

Well i ultimately made drive by and these are from a a test mission i made lol

Ultimately Dyom 5 will be awesome rolleyes.gif you guys gonna addd more features in full version of dyom 5? sleepy.gif

First is the limo car attacking me witha drive by shooter and i gotta kill the driver as my objective and only way for me is blowing it up as i turned headshot off tounge.gif

Oh Dutchy3010 and PatrickW - I saw heli and plane and vortex not supported but in my view maybe we can use cheat code which makes car on water and use on quad to set the way of boat..

 

And are trains be able to drived?

lol kratso why you saying wait some days??/ ha ha Kratos in this beta one save or load is not yet supported , it will be supported in full one. So even you create a mission you just cant save it means cant publish it turn.gif

but you cant show or uplaod them, Well when full one will come i will upload some car featured fighting missions but lets have patience for full version too.. Until tthen i am enjoying v5 beta biggrin.gif

Well Spider Vice the only way we could learn with driving and route points is...... That Dutchy3010 and PatrickW show us a tutorial in Dyom 5 full release on youtube like thety did with Dyom and Cutscene colgate.gif

what doing the countdown?

 

and with the hold position, when i set actor objective and with hold position, if i get close, he will attack me, but i want him to stand with hands up, and to not attack.

i know that is not a bug, but it's really annoying.

Great work! I will start testing and making missions. BTW till DYOM 5 final is released, we can make videos of our missions and upload it to youtube. They would serve as Trailers of our missions. smile.gif

Damn, this beta is very awesome! I love you all.

But, too bad there're no save & load missions...well, this is still beta, still find the bugs.
