Flitskikker
This is Flitskikker InfoTool, a simple system information tool which I started developing a year ago. I'm still updating and enhancing it. It's (very) populair at the Dutch GTAForum.nl website (where I'm much more active, as moderator ; topic is also pinned), and now I'm sharing it with you too. My goal is not to advertise for or promote it, but to help you. Don't mind the name. It's Dutch. Information Flitskikker InfoTool offers you essential information about your system. Afterwards, you can save it as a text file, or BB Code to share on forums. Most people can help you better if you share your system information with them. Now you can do this easily with this free utility. It will display all the essentials of your system (Computer, Motherboard, Processor, Memory, Hard disk, Drives, Sound Card, Graphics Card, Display, Mouse, Keyboard, Network Card, DirectX, Operating System). You can now also use the Upgrade Advisor and compare your system to system requirements for the most populair games, to see if your computer can handle them in less than a second! If you can't run it, information for required and recommended is displayed. Comparison information is compiled by hardware professional, so you'll mostly get the best upgrade information. Flitskikker InfoTool supports multiple languages and is full customizable using skins. The new version 3 brings you lots of new features. It's still completely free, but there's no harm in donating to motivate the developer to keep improving Flitskikker InfoTool. The program itself is small, but a portable version is also available. Just put it on your flash drive and take Flitskikker InfoTool on the go! So, if you want to simply view your system information for free or if you're done with slow online, unreliable system requirements checks. And don't you like installing big and bloated tools, Flitskikker InfoTool is the software you must have in your collection. > Go directly to the Flitskikker InfoTool website. System Requirements* Windows 2000 or higher* Pentium II Processor at 300 MHz or equivalent 64 MB RAM memory 20 MB free harddisk space for installation 8 MB graphics card Screen Resolution of 1024x768 or higher (the program will crash when using lower resolutions) Keyboard Mouse Since the application is developed in Visual Basic 6, no .NET Framework installation is required. Only Visual Basic 6 Runtime is required, but by default installed on operating systems higher than Windows 98. * This program is not tested on Windows 98 or lower. It's tested working on ME, 2000, XP, Vista and 7. In theory it should work on 95/98. The program may work on lower specification, but it's not recommended and/or supported. Features Display the essentials of your system (Computer, Motherboard, Processor, Memory, Harddisk, Drives, Sound Card, Graphics Card, Display, Mouse, Keyboard, Network Card, DirectX, Operating System) Clear view of all system details (at one page) Generate information and copy it to the clipboard or save it to a file Generate BB Code and copy it to the clipboard or save it to a file Multi-Language (Dutch, English and French coming soon) Skinnable (Default, Classic) Upgrade Advisor (Beta) Transparency function Update function Included FPL Editor so users can make translations Included Advise Editor so users can create Advise Files Screenshots Knows bugs and errors The program will crash on resolutions lower than 1024x768 Some translation mistakes are noticed and will be fixed in the next version Some bugs are noticed and will be fixed in the next version Memory type not correctly displayed Clock speed multipliers needs a recheck LanguagesDutch English French Spanish Latvian Change Log Changes in v3.1.0.136: - Added: (Momentarily) support for NVIDIA GeForce 300 and 400 series graphics cards - Added: Support for AMD Phenom II X6 processors - Added: Shortcut to hardware monitor in the File menu, with info about the next version - Improved: Processor recognition at Advisor - Improved: Pentium Dual Core (E-series) at Advisor - Improved: Graphics card lists for Advisor - Improved: More games added to Upgrade Advisor - Improved: NVIDIA graphics cards now as one group in Data file - Improved: Support for more ATI Radeon HD 5000 series graphics cards - Fixed: Print results error - Fixed: Errors in names in About screen - Fixed: Corrupted BB Code tables - Fixed: Other several bug fixes - Removed: Unnecessary code Changes in v3.0.0.133: - Added: Workgroup Information - Added: Screen Proportion and Resolution Type - Added: Automated Update Checker - Added: Processor Caches - Added: Processor Cores - Added: Version number and User name added to the form's caption - Added: Spanish language - Added: Latvian language - Added: French language - Added: 5 new skins (optional at setup) - Added: Settings for generating information - Added: Export functions for Information, BB Code and Advisor - Added: Support for Core i3, i5 and i9 - Added: Support for ATI's Radeon HD 5000 series - Added: Support for Pentium M at Advisor - Added: Support for several AMD processors at Advisor - Added: .faf file association - Added: Welcome screen - Added: Thanks screen - Added: Charset support for displaying foreign languages correctly - Added: Option for installing skins at setup - Improved: Graphics card lists for Advisor - Improved: ATI and NVIDIA lists completely renovated - Improved: Pentium D support at Advisor - Improved: Pentium Dual Core (E-series) at Advisor - Improved: Upgrade Advisor (Beta has ended) - Improved: Program menu - Improved: Vista skin - Improved: Language Editor (v1.3) - Improved: Advice Editor (v1.1) - Improved: Locations of controls - Improved: Setup program - Improved: Reduced the size of the program - Improved: Faster start up - Improved: More detailed memory support (speed, type) - if supported - Improved: More games (280+) added to Upgrade Advisor - Improved: Language files - Improved: Key shortcuts for menu options - Improved: New and more correct processor multipliers at Upgrade Advisor - Fixed: Operating System bug at Advisor - Fixed: Service Pack bug at Advisor - Fixed: Process should be gone when closing using the close button - Fixed: Loading screens are not overlapped - Fixed: BB Code is not changed when clicking the Generate button more than once - Fixed: Forms are not correctly closed - Fixed: Crash at shutdown - Fixed: Skin changes were not applied on the Upgrade Advisor - Fixed: Too big text size bug - Fixed: 0 mouse buttons bug - Fixed: Processor name was not correctly displayed - Fixed: Memory types were not correctly displayed - Fixed: Graphics Card name was not correctly displayed - Fixed: Several Advice Files had wrong information and/or caused the program and/or editor to crash - Fixed: When no Service Pack is installed, "Unknown" was displayed (changed to "None") - Fixed: Memory types were not correctly displayed - Fixed: Numbers were not correctly rounded and/or displayed - Fixed: Wrong DirectX version was displayed - Fixed: Spaces before the Processor and Monitor name - Fixed: Clock speed was not correctly displayed - Fixed: Clock speed requirement was not correctly displayed at Upgrade Advisor - Removed: Memory type from Advisor and Advice Editor - Removed: Additional skins (i.e. Classic) from default installation v2.5.0.60 * Fixed Graphics Card name bug * Fixed Minimize bug * Fixed a lot of other bugs + Added Help function + Added Advise Editor for editing Advise Files + Added 70+ Advise Files + Added Thanks To * Setup Program enhanced, which will, hopefully, cause less problems * Upgrade Advisor enhanced * Language Editor enhanced Still looking for...! I am running the 64bit win 7 rc build 7100 Try installing the Support Files: http://informatica.ghlyceum.nl/users/22109...tFilesSetup.rar If that doesn't work, I have another fix here laying around. oldage
works splendid! I tested out the generated BB codes in preview post and it looks nice! good work, kudos. EDIT: it stopped working, here are the files that "caused" the problem, vista says. Bestanden die helpen bij het beschrijven van het probleem: C:\Users\Sander\AppData\Local\Temp\WER7E84.tmp.version.txt C:\Users\Sander\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9189.tmp.appcompat.txt C:\Users\Sander\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9206.tmp.hdmp (you're dutch so you'll be able to read it) oh also, the system reqs for games works WAY better than the "CanYouRunIt? site" Edited August 7, 2009 by oldage
Girish
Nice app there. Just one thing, it does not recognize my memory type as DDR2. It just says (Unknown, DIMM). Also, in the Advisor Tool, it fails me on the basis of less free HDD space even though I have sufficient space. This does not happen for all listed games though; seems to be the case with only those games that take up more than 2-3 GB of space. I have 34 GB free HDD space. Flitskikker
Thanks for the replies. @oldage: When does that happens? @girishb: I know about the memory type problems. I'll try to fix it or remove it. About your other problem; I think it's because the decimal (in Dutch is comma and in US it's a point, so I think the program doesn't like that. ) Further, I hope, because of the internationality of this forums, some people are willing to translate the program to other languages. Flitskikker
it happened like 20 seconds after I chose GTA vice city to see if my system could run it. Maybe it's because you close the windows by clicking the X instead of the Close button. That gave an error previously, too.

Slamman
I'm confused, we can't promote our own products on this 4ums, but you do??? Anywayz, can you run this app on a Windows 95 or 98 first edition and get readouts for Megabytes instead of Kilobytes?? I hate that about old OS. Your specs are likely too high, but I do collect info tools for very old computers I happen upon, to get an idea for drivers as well as upgrades, the Thinkpad I mentioned is proving a challenge for me because I move data where the PCMCIA or USB is working and there's a drive, however, the 560x and LS model Dell have no internal reading drive, just a HDD space! Flitskikker
Thanks for the replies. I'm planning to move to another server, cause Funpic causes a lot of troubles. @oldage: CNet, Softpedia, Tucows and Filepig did not update their sites yet, so you'd better go for the Direct download link. Notice by Edmachine: This new version supports BB Code tables, but at GTAForums.com, they appearantly use another format for the tables, so to prevent messy posts, deselect the "Use tables for ... output" options in the Generate options menu. JostVice
Pretty cool! It couldn't read the name my screen though everest can, it only says generic PnP screen (it is a Compaq FP7317). The only addition I can think of is temperature of CPUs/GPU and maybe something about speed of the fans

oldage
worked, thanks! by the way, for the game recommendation (min and recommended specs), it's not too accurate since I can run L4D & L4D2 on this crappy laptop @ 20-25fps (L4D) 10-15 fps (L4D2) (playable) while it says I cannot run them (I'm on an intel x3100 and a dual core 2,0GHz processor). perhaps you can also a "verdict", if you can run it or not (if that's possible of course)
