hey, i really want to play this mod!!! so for the next versoin, if at all possible can u make it easier to install or at least put a guide into it with hte downloaded file?

Easier to install? It couldn't be easier than the way you have to install it now.. You just have to copy the FirstResponse.net.dll file to your GTA IV/scripts folder. That's all.

Omg sad.gif When I'm loading GTA IV, it gets all the way to "Loading - Story Complete" Thing, and when the game is about to start, i get "GTA IV has stopped working" Wth is wrong? sad.gif

 

I Played it yesterday and everything was fine... but when i try to start it now, it wont..

It happens when you play the game with autosave on. If you die or do some sort of mission and you are on duty it will autosave while you are on duty and thus won't load. Therefore you have to delete that save and start from your last save as Niko.

and another thing again:P : When arresting someone.... What's the point of running in front of them, then make them surrender, THEN run behind them and arrest them?

And could it be possible to arrest whoever u want? Like arrest them when they are laying on the ground too.. etc tounge.gif

 

And please fix the bug when you pull someone over and make them come out. Cause they won't put they're head/hands on the roof tounge.gif They just walk away XD

 

And when u press the Shift button, it many times happends that u goes to another's car window that you wanted to talk with ;P

 

But It's a REALLY cool script anyway smile.gif

Easier to install? It couldn't be easier than the way you have to install it now.. You just have to copy the FirstResponse.net.dll file to your GTA IV/scripts folder. That's all.

omg. we have about 10 posts which says: LCPD FR will not work with 1.0.0.4., you also have it on the first page

 

and you can't just create script folder

 

i can't believe all that stupid posts...

LCPDFR will not work on GTA IV 1.0.0.4 at all. You will have to downgrade your patch.

You guys are not understanding this. No version, past or present of LCPD FR will work with 1.0.0.4 because it isn't compatible with scripthook.net, either Rockstar releases a patch that is compatible or you downgrade.

Installation Problem

 

Hey. I searched for a Police Mod for GTAiv because I see a huge potential in the game that Rockstar didn't assign much value to. Fortunately I found this mod, and it seems to be great, it's very promising at least. And to see the developer being scottish didn't hurt my impression. biggrin.gif The more I see and read about this mod, the more I want it!

 

However, I'm used to having to go through tricky things to install, but this seems to be beyond me. I realise this may have been asked before, but I read from page 1-43 with no sign of improvement, and that's still less than a third through this thread, so I gave up, hoping that some kind person will help me out instead.

 

 

Background

I downloaded the Client (0.8 Beta) from it's official site, extracted it and found the installation information. Using that, I tried to find Alexanders Asi-loader, but failed since it's thread (380830) contained invalid link. I searched, and came across two alternatives, one which appeared to disable Live, which I didn't approve of, and yet another Asi loader, that I then deployed, also downloaded via this site. I also downloaded the Script Loader Hook thing, with it's \scripts folder setup, and installed LCPDFPs dll file in that directory (\scripts).

 

My game still works fine, in that it starts and runs as usual, but there's no sign of the mod, and pressing any of the keys doesn't help me. ALT-P does nothing, nor after remapping the Definition key. In my first attempts I even transported myself to the police station to jack a policecar to see if the mod could only be started from inside those - no luck. I later found that it should be possible to start from anywhere.

Software - versions

My GTAiv is version 1.0.2.0 as I read that 1.0.4.0 is not compatible.

Games for Windows - Live is most recent version I assume, as it's autopatched

AsiLoader was Yet Another ASI Loader - v1.0 BETA

AsiLoader *IS* Alexanders GTA IV ASI LOADER 1.0.2.0b

ScriptHook is GTAIV .Net Script Hook v0.893 BETA

 

PC Specifications :

Intel Core i7 920 (2,667GHz)

ASUS P6T

6GB DDR3 Trippel Channel memory

nVidia 9800GT

Windows Vista Premium 64bit English SP1

 

No issues running the game in general. System is very reliable and not overclocked.

 

 

Problem Description :

When started using GTAiv.exe everything takes forever (loading, loading save games), no sign of mod.

When started using LaunchGTAiv.exe (with Administrative rights) the screen format is wrong and the game crashes ("GTAiv has stopped working") after the copyright notice, before the main menu.

When started via RGSC "Play" button, game launches and loads fast, also loads savegames, but does not seem to have the mod.

 

I've tried to create a new game too, with no improvement. My game is original hardcopy DVD, I have never used other mods apart from attempting to make the Controller Fix work, which it hasn't to this date (works in input tester, but not in game), I have never deployed ANY cheats, trainers, external savegames, etc on my game.

 

Expected Behavior :

When done loading, I press ALT + P expecting the mod to start

 

Actual Behavior :

When done loading, pressing ALT + P does not do anything, nor do any other mod-related shortcuts have any impact.

Thoughts, Ideas, Impressions :

I'm pretty sure ScriptHookDotNet.asi should contain more data in it's log than what it does?

 

I tried to remove ScriptHook.dll because I thought there might be a conflict with the two, but this does not resolve the issue. The game still launches and works via RGSC, but if ran using GTAiv.exe the game refuses to run due to the missing component and suggests reinstall. Thus I gather Scripthook.dll is a built-in component.

 

I find it highly strange that the game acts so differently based on how it's executed. Is this common?

 

In addition, I am not able to access the console in game, could you explain which key to use on a danish keyboard layout (Wiki-Link), as this might be helpful?

 

Is there anything else I can submit that can aid the troubleshooting, then please let me know!

 

Unrelated:

Since I noticed the creator of the mod appreciates videos/stories, I'd like to submit a non-mod video I made a long time ago. It does contain a spoiler as it's a game mission I chose to do in a police car. Should this mod actually run in my game, I pledge to make a good video of some realistic emergency driving using it as well. smile.gif

 

For now, you have to settle for a good strecth of road covered at high speed chasing an airbourne suspect, yet with no damage at all, untill I miscalculated the distance to make a turn at the end. tounge.gif My roaddriving was alright though, I tried to drive as realistic as the timeframe would allow during the mission. Was filming the entire mission for a mate who considered buying the game, so there's not much to see after I take off in the chopper.

I'm not sure if the new scripthook works with 1.0.2.0 but it does work with 1.0.3.0 and 1.0.2.0 but does not work with 1.0.0.4

I think there is something you have to do to 64 Bit Windows to get mods to work

 

@All questioning Why there is no Update for 1.0.0.4

The .net scripthook is not working with 1.0.0.4, there is no way of updating the script for i to work with the latest patch unless the scripthook is supported.

I also recommend that you use xliveless because if you do not disable live, it will demand that you patch to 1.0.0.4 and you will be unable to use live if you don't and go through the hassle of offline accounts. (either way you can't use live)

Don't save your game, while you are on duty.. or generally don't save your game? You have nothing to save in LCPDFR anyway. After you completed the game, you shouldn't need to save anymore.

Ok i got it working now.... i used Provehiclemod where u can see the car pictures... But i used the old version, because that one worked with the scripthook that works with LCPD FR...

 

 

So now i use xlive + g4mehook...

I'd like to continue using Live, as I occasionally play online with mates. When doing so, I gather that if I remove the LCPD FR script from the scripts folder, multiplayer will work? Or will I have to remove all the modded files prior to start? Or kiss Multiplayer goodbye forever?

 

 

Also, just wondering - do you still take suggestions for your finished version? I thought about since you added missions, maybe you could add some missions inspired by various shows, and maybe you could also add a cancel-call feature where you're dispatched on an emergency but then after random time the call is cancelled, e.g. a call for backup that turns to backup no longer required, or 911 calls where the person making the call had stated the wrong address so you get there and there's nothing?

 

I know it seems kinda boring, and it shouldn't happen all the time, but I think it would add to the realism of the mod. smile.gif

 

Also, is it possible to make the secondary siren spread out on two keys so you can select if it goes hi-lo or yelp? smile.gif

 

 

Furthermore, after playing I noticed some bugs - invisible officers being one. Are you taking bug submissions here as well? Any way I can help, I'll be happy to smile.gif

MM: Could you make a "light only" mod in the next version, which is exactly like in Police Pursuit mod? Actually, i think the current Code 3 lights are too exaggerated, and most sadly they don't stay on when you exit the vehicle.

No they don't, only the reflections on the pavement do. The lightbar switches off, until you attempt to enter the vehicle again.

 

MM: I don't know, i never tried 0,6, but i think that the light only mode in PPM works better than the current in LCPD smile.gif

I'm going to improve it significantly for 0.90. Hopefully optimize it for less lag as well.
