3minty3
This CPU?Intel® Core™2 Duo processor Windows Vista® Home Premium 3 GB RAM GeForce 8200M G Screen 1600x900 HD+ CAN IT RUN IV ON LOW? The 8200 is not really a gaming card so it wont be able to play GTA 4. You will need a 8600 at least.

Fozzy Fozborne
An 8200 is the bottom of the pile as far as video cards go. If you want GTA4 to even run that won't be suitable. Have you simply considered buying a 360 and playing it on that? The Xbox arcade is only $250 and add the game for $30 and you'll have tons of money left over for a laptop. Slamman
You thought of me when you typed that, no doubt?!?? hahaha Here's one I was just looking over on Craig's List, I think it can, I think it can!! Jayronathon
I ended up buying an Asus G51VX-RX05 you can look up the specs on your own. Anyhow, the game kept crashing b/c the laptop was defective, so I took it back to bestbuy and got a full refund. Hell, not only did GTAIV crash, but also 3DMark06 and the screen saver crashed on me! I'm going to keep an eye on those laptops though, see if they go on sale soon. EDIT: Oh yeah, whoever said Most Laptops can't handle GTA SA, you haven;t seen my LT's specs and how well it runs on my sh*t machine. CPU T2300 @1.66Ghz 2G RAM 945GM Express Chipset Now I may not be able to run it with everything on High, but it plays just the same, same missions, same cars. Slamman
I looked over most of them at MicroCenter the other night....I favor the $800 Sony Vaio series with ATI Radeon HD4... series graphic cards and 4GB Ram, they are true Core2Duo and they have one dang nice display. I really like the new technology LCDs, they're the best part of the new laptops out now. There are a few budget ones where I would not spend $400, but save up if you can for those still under $1000, of course, online, slightly used. Rezard
I know for a fact that most games up until basically now (i.e. Dragon Age: Origin) only run off 2 cores. So, in general, a quad core 2.1Ghz will prefom slower than a dual core at a higher clock speed. If comparing a laptop to a desktop that both have current hardware (the latest CPU, GPU, etc...), the laptop would usually be worst off. As technology changes and gets applied more rapidly to the mobile market, which is become more and more of a standard these days, you can expect the same preformance from some high-end laptops as you get from a near high-end desktop. lt_yao
Sure, my laptop runs IV on medium with no real lag. Acer aspire 5738ZG The processor isn't the greatest: Pentium processor T4300 2.1 Ghz 800 MHz FSB ATI Radeon HD 4570 4 GB Memory Runs the game good. Rezard
Hey Jayronathon, I'd call this a good deal, if it's in your price range (I could barely afford). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...hiba-_-34114743 I'm expecting mine any day now and can let you know how it works out for me. EDIT: I feel I've searched "far and wide" and this is the best deal I could find. Let me know if there's one better. (better deal, that is) Edited February 1, 2010 by Rezard
