and yeah men, its not the fking bloody GTA IV LC!!! R* Games has more than 100 graphics designers working, we are actually 2 guys modelling all this!

so more help faster it goes and, Yeah we have months to do this? why the rush!

 

btw...

all my fking models i dont know why, but all are comming with fked Cols!

tomorrow i post the building i did(it has stupid invisible col walls too)

Its a sh*t

i hope someone do the cols for them, it will be a great city all we need is more map modelers and guy really good with cols

LOL vans did you use Sketch up to make their cols or max? try sending me the WTC or timesquare Ill try to make a col file for them.

this maybe a noob request but can you do cols for each building?

not matter, i do the buildings, you just col them please!

OMG this is not GTA IV to SA its NYC damn men. I stoped working on my lot and started to do some landscaping for the mod.

SUPERHUMANMORTAL any ideas on what to use for a referrence in landscaping for SA?

The game itself. Do you use cleo lately Noel? Try this script - it is a modification of the example VCCam.cs that is included with cleo, providing a much further camera angle, giving you a sweeping view of the game. This is useful to you to look at what Rockstar did and how they worked it out in the stock game as a hopeful level designer. I made the modifications, but credit for this script is Sanny Builder 3.5, whoever wrote this cleo, I just changed some numbers:

The main thing is to start with your road network - using the buildings for this mod perhaps to help you map that out (a top down render of all buildings in their estimated "final" position is helpful). This is why I said I see nothing wrong with having buildings to start with - and I see it could be very helpful to the design and roughing processes.

 

With the script, you can get big bird eye views while driving, it's fun in gameplay (sort of like an RTS, but GTA, so it's good wink.gif and only in the vehicles), and useful to see all the landscape (don't ask my why this is better than loading things up in gmax or max or viewers when you don't need to see wireframs - it just feels better, it shows what you need to see, I think you'll really enjoy it)

So this is a good timing for you to ask what I use to figure it out, and with GTA map concepts, 1 pixel = 1 unit for your modeler to setup the reference. So, since a road is usually 20 units wide (pavement 5 units each, the two lanes of the road 5 units each as well), a road in your reference is safe at 20 pixels wide. This number is useful because if you do your concept with 40 pixel wide roads, your artists/you have a basis to scale on and easily setup the workspace without guess work.

 

Don't mean to toot again: But I am also really interested in anyone's map concepts, mainly road networks, and of a small size (portland or staunton size). I need something small but interesting, just as a side note since I'm on the subject.

I redo everything cause its effing big LOL. just laying out the roads....using SUPERHUMANMORTAL's road kit just for the guide I have a pencil sketch on where the roads will go blush.gifblush.gif its the east side I based it on the place near the safe house on algonquin the one near the turismo shop LOOOL. WIP model and TEXTURES SO DONT BUG ME ON THE TEXTURE LOOOOL

play with some lines and path deform with long pieces you have attached when you want some curving.
