Slamman
Mike, I edited a link I wrote down, last time I went to update the player, I didn't cut and paste the thing as I was on my battery at that time. Here's Softpedia 1 stop-shop however; http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Registr...RegSeeker.shtml Edited January 20, 2010 by Slamman
Andrew
Whilst Mike is pointing out BgInfo. I'd like to point out CoolMon -> http://www.brothersoft.com/coolmon-62316.html It does the same job as bgInfo, but it isn't applied to the wallpaper, rather it just overlays. We use BgInfo at work, and have an issue when any of the information changes. it doesn't update until you rerun BgInfo. Also since it is applied to the desktop, it takes the last desktop used. IE the bgInfo one, and applies the text to that, so it overwrites itself.

Star-Lord
@ Gansta Killa: nice This is a multimedia OS running under Linux. GeeXboX is a full operating system, running under Linux and based on the excellent MPlayer. No need for a hard drive, you just have to put the GeeXboX bootable CD into the CD-Drive of any Pentium-class or Apple Macintosh computer to boot it. Moreover, GeeXboX is free software, created as open-source software. This means that everyone can modify it and build his own release of the GeeXboX. - MPEG 1/2 movies (MPG files, VCDs, DVDs ...) - MPEG 4 movies (DivX, XviD, H.264 ...) - RealMedia and Windows Media movies. - OggMedia streams - Matroska streams - Audio streams like : MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, WAV (AudioCD), AC3, DTS, MusePack (MPC), FLAC ... - Network streams : WebRadio and WebTV through SHOUTcast. - Watching analog TV and digital DVB - Playing analog Radio streams. - Playing files from your local network (LAN) through remote NFS, Samba (i.e. Windows) or UPnP shares. Screenshot Screenshot2 Screenshot3 DOWNLOAD It Here Also for MAC - MS Windows 32/64Bit Can also be use as a standalone live disc. No too shabby if you want to convert, an old spare computer into a multimedia center.

I've spent many a hour on this game! Only a mere 14 mb download also. Video Warsow - Kinda looks like a cell-shaded Quake on steroids, works in Windows, Linux and Mac. I'm not sure if these are already well-known or whatnot, but I didn't see them on the front page
Star-Lord
Here's another freebie from me to you - Foxit Reader. Think of it as Adobe Acrobat Reader but without the bloat. GUI Bookmarks Statusbar Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer, with incredible small size, breezing-fast launch speed and rich feature set. Foxit Reader supports Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/7. Its core function is compatible with PDF Standard 1.7. In the past, you've had to download a huge PDF reader from another software company, go through a lengthy installation process and wait for an annoying splash window to disappear just to open a PDF document. Moreover, if you want to annotate a PDF document, you have to pay US$299 to buy certain software. Now with Foxit Reader, you don't have to endure such pain any more. The following is a list of compelling advantages of Foxit Reader: * Incredibly small: The download size of Foxit Reader is just a fraction of Acrobat Reader 20 M size. * Breezing-fast: When you run Foxit Reader, it launches instantly without any delay. You are not forced to view an annoying splash window displaying company logo, author names, etc. * Annotation tool: Have you ever wished to annotate (or comment on) a PDF document when you are reading it? Foxit Reader allows you to draw graphics, highlight text, type text and make notes on a PDF document and then print out or save the annotated document. * Text converter: You may convert the whole PDF document into a simple text file. * High security and privacy: Foxit Reader highly respects the security and privacy of users and will never connect to the Internet without users' permission. While other PDF readers often silently connect to the Internet in the background. Foxit PDF Reader does not contain any spyware. What's New in Version 3.1? The following is a list of exciting new features in Foxit Reader 3.1. * Internet Search * Favorite Toolbar * Comments Panel * Summarize Comments * Document Restrictions * Supports MSAA * Streamlined UI Download
jelly
If you don't like the shareware cruft of Foxit you can use Sumatra PDF, a lightweight open source PDF reader. The only downside is there are some complex PDF files it will not read. I have Foxit installed as well because of this.. but it is rarely needed. Star-Lord
If you don't like the shareware cruft of Foxit you can use Sumatra PDF, a lightweight open source PDF reader. The only downside is there are some complex PDF files it will not read. I have Foxit installed as well because of this.. but it is rarely needed. You don't even notice it though. I've been using Foxit for awhile now and I'm happy with the results. However I'll download yours too and give that a go as well. EDIT: Jelly, no offense but I didn't like Sumatra PDF. IMO I find Foxit much quicker at opening PDFs and besides I've taking a liking to it's GUI. Still a good freebie nonetheless. mortalhuman
I've switched back to foxit.. I was using sumatra for years. Foxit is much better these days. It wasn't. I stopped liking Sumatra when it changed from pink/red to yellow. sh*t changed in it, not as fast anymore, but still tiny.

SWEETSAPRIK
I know james227uk already linked to Sandboxie, but I thought I'd mention it again as it can now be installed on 64bit Windows. I would have linked to it much sooner, but I stopped using it when I switched to 64bit, as it wasn't supported for the reasons listed here. I guess he eventually woke up to the fact that MS wasn't going to give up on PatchGuard, and made a version with 64bit support. I haven't gotten around to installing it again (yet), but I used it quite a bit in the past on 32bit XP. I never ran IE outside the sandbox, and used it whenever I wanted to install something I wasn't sure I'd be keeping, to make completely removing it much easier. Awesome program. PяopagaиdaIиc. Star-Lord
Virtual Router For Windows 7 Virtual Router turns any Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Computer into a Wifi Hot Spot using Windows 7's Wireless Hosted Network (Virtual Wifi) technology. The Wireless Network create/shared with Virtual Router uses WPA2 Encryption, and there is not way to turn off that encryption. This is actually a feature of the Wireless Hosted Network API's built into Windows 7 and 2008 R2 to ensure the best security possible. You can give your "virtual" wireless network any name you want, and also set the password to anything. Just make sure the password is at least 8 characters. Tornado Rex
Ok freeloaders. I need your help. I'm looking for something similar to Extreme Picture Finder. Basically something that I can toss a website URL into and it will scrape all the directories and grab all the images for me. In return I offer a couple freeloads of my own! First I have here a very nice password manager I've been using for quite a while. It's called LassPass. It's based pretty much all in your browser, but works spectacular. Everything is stored on their website which is mega encrypted. Whenever a registration comes up you just type in your normal info, tell it to generate a password, and click "Save Site". Now whenever you return to that site you just right click the login box, click "AutoFill" and click the name. It'll fill in your username and password. It's very slick and I like it a lot. http://www.lastpass.com Second is something I've also been using quite a while. Ever since I got Windows 7 I've been in love with the Sticky Notes application. I just toss little things on there (like Freeloads I find or to do lists, etc). However as many people have complained about it's always running in your task bar. So I present to you Sticky Notes Taskbar Hider. It will run when windows starts and automatically hide the sticky notes application from the task bar. It's small, simple, and I love it. http://drakenscripts.co.cc/index.php?p=sti...s-taskbar-hider Hope you guys enjoy both of these and I hope someone can help with my quest for a freeload ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~

Tornado Rex
Thanks a ton pcguy. Just wanted to toss another, similar one out there my friend showed to me. It's called HTTrack. It's considered a website downloader, but you can set it up to just grab pictures (or any file type actually). james227uk
Yup. That's why I use it. I usually have files sitting there on my desktop. With bumptop I can easily organise them. Just drag a "box" (you can freeform draw a shape around icons with bumptop), hover over the center circle, and click "Create pile". Hopefully this video should give an idea of the functionality of this Call me sad, but when I'm bored and have absolutely nothing to do, I find myself dragging icons around the desktop and throwing them into each other and watch them fly around the desktop (Bumptop has physics)
