Star-Lord
World Of Padman MP Game Windows • Linux • Mac Description: World of Padman (WoP) is an open source first-person shooter computer game. It was originally conceived as a modification of Quake III Area, entitled PadMod. The idea of the game is based on the Padman comic strip for the magazine PlayStation Games created by the professional cartoon artist Andreas Endres, who is also the man who made many of the maps included with the game in 1998. In World of Padman when you run out of health you will die unless you restore your health at a loading station or with the power-up 'revival' unlike in other games. In World of Padman there are no health bubbles to collect unlike in games such as Quake III Arena. As long as you stand on a loading station, which is currently shown on the left of this section, you'll regenerate your health over a short period of time. World of Padman runs on an enhanced version of the ioquake3 engine, which is based on the Quake III Arena engine. Most of the maps in the game are lilliput style, and have a commercial-quality level of graphic complexity. Features Include:Gorgeous 3D graphics In game chat A game environment which is fully customizable Gametypes include: Tournament Free for All Team Deathmatch Spray Your Color - spray a logo on the walls in the sprayroom Last Pad Standing - a last man standing mode Big Balloon (like Unreal Tournament's Domination) Special remote weapon 9 basic weapons Punchy Nipper Pumper Bubble G. james227uk
Dunno if this has been added before, but here's my contribution. I searched the first page but nothing Sandboxie Sandboxie allows you to test files in a sandbox environment before you actually open. It makes an isolated space on your harddrive. Sandboxie is free forever, but after 30 days it gives you a nag screen before running in sandbox mode. http://www.sandboxie.com/ EDIT: @Chargr Don't know if you know about this but there is a built in utility to do that. Type msconfig into either the run box or vista/7 start menu Edited January 4, 2010 by james227uk

oldage
Ecofont During printing Ecofont ‘shoots’ holes into the letters that you have typed! That is fascinating in itself, and all the more so when you realise that this has no effect on legibility. But it only really becomes interesting when we tell you that it generally enables you to save up to 25% of ink or toner. Both your wallet and the environment will be grateful to you, because ink and toner are a particularly heavy burden on both. You work with your customary font and print using its ink-saving Eco variant with a single press of the button. The Ecofont software is very easy to install and use. You print sustainably with Ecofont and the software is suitable for both private and business use. I use it and I must say, I am VERY happy about it. you don't see the holes, only if you really watch closely which is another plus. Slamman
I think the first page could update all the Softs and games, etc., for convenience as the thread grows in pages. I can't be arsed to look back and see if MediaCoder is in there, a free tool to transcode vid and audio files. My computer was in standby and shut down while I was prepping this so I can't double check the name, but it's on my drive as a freebie utility of note. Verify the name of that one ^

Slamman
I just jumped to the last page in this instance. That's all good then. Media Coder is on the first page, but SoThink, the main FLV player I promoted and found is still only where I mentioned it, not on the front. SoThink is great because it plays anything that VideoLAN or MPClassic misses. Any Flash vid file that saves without an association, has audio but no video (Mp4 Quicktime?) and will often show as just a FILE without a graphic icon. Another on this PC I had come across is DVD Shrink, sounds like working with burning software like Nero, you can aid compression and decrypt commercial DVDs for backup, Obviously for your archive use as dictated by laws on Copyright. One of the things I was doing to make PSP files, early on, getting past the Digital Macrovision barrier. I still have DVD players that do that so that you have a clean signal in NTSC Edited January 14, 2010 by Slamman

I appreciate your contributions, but the whole point of the topic is for YOU to provide links to YOUR favourite free software. Slamman
Ultimate Paint is another FREE graphics tool, a bit dated on my end, came on a disc of freeware, however, it's likely updated. A link would be good, but I have to edit that in, I don't know those URLs off the top of my head, just have the software and using it for some time now. I did promise an edit, here's the one that SHOULD take you to a download option, I didn't link directly to it presently; www.sothinkmedia.com/flv-player/ I truncated it, it's put out by SourceTec software. They tell me it could work on Apple, I didn't confirm on my G3 however. For UP, try Google, it may be updated, but my revision is some years older. Slamman
I always forget the name of the tool, it took some time to find RegSeeker. It has GUI for Windows Tweaks, modifying the Startup programs and Registry cleaning and editing within an easy to use GUI system. I don't know of another one that's FREE and not a partial trial that charges you. At least I got sick of looking for ones that didn't work free of charge. If your Registry is fouling up your computer's speed and operation, try Regseeker utility! I am pleased with it

Star-Lord
BgInfo v4.16 Background Info By Bryce Cogswell (MS Technet) How many times have you walked up to a system in your office and needed to click through several diagnostic windows to remind yourself of important aspects of its configuration, such as its name, IP address, or operating system version If you manage multiple computers you probably need BGInfo. It automatically displays relevant information about a Windows computer on the desktop's background, such as the computer name, IP address, service pack version, and more. You can edit any field as well as the font and background colors, and can place it in your startup folder so that it runs every boot, or even configure it to display as the background for the logon screen. Because BGInfo simply writes a new desktop bitmap and exits you don't have to worry about it consuming system resources or interfering with other applications. Can be useful when needing certain information right away. With this utility, it will be staring at you right in the face. Kind of cool too, to show off to your friends. Main site & Download Tested on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. @ Slamman: Please post links. Don't Slammanize this topic too.
