lordjubblydave
Yo Freeloaders. The new release of Ubuntu went live the other day. It looks pretty good to me, i am Downloading it now Related Videos 20 Second Boot Download Ubuntu This is pretty cool, for those of you that use your Computer a lot. For work etc. This program runs in the background and records all sorts of information about your daily use. It can then can turn all of your activities into a chart, so you can prove to your boss how hard you work, or not . Manictime Enjoy STOP PRESS This just saved my arse, I was best man at a friends wedding and we saved their photos from their camera onto a cd for them. We deleted the originals and the ones from our hard drive. Their dog chewed up the disc, OSX could not read it nor windows, nothing all we could get off it was 25 pics. I tried CD Recovery Toolbox and it recovered every single file on the chewed scratched disk Definately one for a future Freeloader Essentials package. Awesome product and completely free Edited November 1, 2009 by lordjubblydave

GTArv
CamStudio - Record videos of your desktop and applications to make video tutorials or capture gameplay footage. You may want to install DivX (the free version) as well to save your videos in the DivX format. Wolf68k mentioned jahshaka sometime back, when I enquired about a free video editing tool. I'm yet to get the hang of it, but it looks very promising. Seems to be slightly more advanced that WMM. From jahshaka's website - "Edit videos with flexibility and speed, Create Effects in real time, Animate with unlimited features, Paint and design on moving video, Create music with all the tools the pros use, Work in any format at any resolution" Free Download Manager - "Powerful, easy-to-use, open source and absolutely free download accelerator and manager". EDIT: The latest version seems to come with some third-party add-ons, best not to install them as some users have complained them of being adware. FDM otherwise has been clean, been using it for years without any problems. Edited November 11, 2009 by GTArv

Star-Lord
lordjubblydave I will give Total Anarchy a go for sure looks like fun. On a another note: I found this FREE! gem and decided to add it, where it would be the most useful, right here of course. Making a bootable USB flash drive for Windows Vista and Windows 7 isn't all that tricky, but it's always nice to find an app that simplifies things. Not only does WinToFlash make the process about as easy as it can get, but it can also create Windows XP, Server 2003, and Server 2008 installers. The default options make it easy to roll a silent Windows install, or you can flip the custom switch and specify the exact setup parameters you want to use. The handy app also has one more trick up its sleeve: moving Windows Preinstall environments. PE discs can be extremely handy for troubleshooting and repairs, and being able to painlessly zap them over to a USB flash drive means not having to burn a new copy every time someone's haggard old optical drive decides to chew up your CD. I have an HP laptop with some sort of DVD software that refuses to work (and yes, it is BR compatible, it worked when I got it then it insisted I had to update it... now it doesn't launch, uninstall, or reinstall... weird). Slamman
I'm working on a partition program for my Acer, partitioned by default as you know for a 160GB drive to boot up initially, I used Windows ME restore off eMachine and swapped to the Acer Aspire. Now I have XP installed to the rest at 20GBs. It's not goot to leave it at that and register the OS online, I need to remove the parition and get XP using it all, or most of the 160. I downloaded SWISSKNIFE after other options didn't look so hot, including an expanded FDISK utility. My contribution is to look up the site FREECOUNTRY. Nice name There were a few other sites in aiding a free resource, including trials that fall under "Shareware" catagory, so there are some more to be found! Introduction Propper is an edited version of vbsp that outputs a model instead of a bsp. Many mappers need to make props for their maps, but don't want to learn a separate modeling program. This tool allows them to make models in Hammer in a one-step process. It's also useful to modelers who work with mappers. No other method of .vmf export keeps texture mapping intact, or auto-generates a physics mesh. Features Can create static props or physics props Generates a .qc file and automatically compiles the prop for use in your game. Generates a working physics mesh. Automatic material conversion--Turns map textures into valid model textures. Distinguishes between real textures and "tool" textures. Respects Hammer smoothing groups or autosmooth. Slamman
One of the things I wonder about is use of Shareware, mentioned earlier, if we are to promote them here, if they are part of a limited trial, one should pick the best based on whether they give you all the features "unlocked" for a month or so, while test driving it, can you create, manipulate and save without watermarks or something hampering the performance? Personally I don't think Shareware should be included. Shareware is not free, therefore should not be in the Freeloader topic. I finally have a Freeload for you all (everyone keeps beating me to the punch on cool stuff I find)! Ace Online It's a sort of futuristic flying MMO. You have planes (called "Gears") that you fly around in, blow up enemies, etc. As you progress though the dogfights can get somewhat intense (especially when you have 2 or 3 baddies on you). You get better weapons, armor, etc just like in a regular MMO. I was surprised it was actually quite addicting. Check it out if you like war-game type flying games. SWEETSAPRIK
Meh, I think it'd depend on the software. If it only works for a short time, or has limited features on the trial, then no. On the other hand, winrar is shareware, but you get all the features no matter how long you use it, and only get a nag screen. I'd think that was fine, no? PяopagaиdaIиc. Tornado Rex
...you get all the features no matter how long you use it, and only get a nag screen.... See I would consider that Freeware. It's 100% free, you just get a screen. I'd put it in the same category as the free games where you can buy new weapons and the like with real money. ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~
leik oh em jeez!
This is a theme pack made by me to replace the "royale" theme in XP or simply as an add-on for those with out the royale theme. The royale theme was the one used in XP Media Center Edition. There is also a similar black & orange "zune" theme, and an all dark-blue Windows Embedded theme. This theme pack contains 4 themes. 1. Standard Royale Theme. 2. Black theme - Darkened the the zune theme, and added a green start button. 3. Embedded theme - Replaced blue start button with green one. 4. Green theme. The four themes are set a different color schemes under one theme file. It requires a hacked uxtheme.dll. Pics: DL: Royale.rar (509 KB) *I know there are a few glitches with the shell style, and they will be fixed later on.
